There's something about lacy white on the lawn to transport me to the tropics or some Victorian movie scene. It's definitely out of the ordinary at any rate.
Sturdy wicker from the thirties is a major player on this stage. (It's actually Lloyd Loom, constructed of paper covered wire.) New wicker just isn't the same.
If there's a doubt about its age, it's written plainly on the underside. And I don't give a fig about it's obvious flaws.
A couple of soft cushions makes it respectable to sit on. Even for company. And there's nothing more perfect than white for summer.
Vintage linens add to the romance. But when DON'T they? Lawn tennis anyone?
Nothing cheerier than being at home with white! All of our lawn parties should have this look!
Wishing you another wonderful White Wednesday!
Ciao! for now!
Jacqueline

ReplyDeleteIs that big white pot McCoy? I love the texture on it. Your pictures are superb showing texture even if the pot was not there. Stay cool - it's hot in Colorado. Sally

ReplyDeleteI adore table linens in white and you have some gorgeous pieces! I keep going back to your lovely photos to investigate them. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like the perfect setting for a little afternoon soiree!! You can't beat old wicker and it is worth the cost of having repaired if you have an old piece that needs work. A few beautiful cushions or linens are all you need. Love the clock and the little kitty looks ready to join the fun!!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
So dreamy. I think that vintage linens in whites or creams are beautiful works of art.
