Shopping the summer sales at the biggies like Williams Sonoma, and Potterybarn isn't quite like thrift shopping, but discounts can be as much as half off, and there is a bit of the thrill of the unexpected to it.
You never know what stock is going to be closing out and on super sale. You just have to take your chances.
I lucked out on these faux coral placecard holders with the frosted glass base. The cards were included. They're great for labeling things like cheeses or any kind of fun signage you may want to use on a table.
They also continue the nautical theme that I've been enjoying lately, and make an interesting accent with my vintage summer white china.
Where is your table taking you this week? Hope it's fun!
Ciao! for now!

ReplyDeleteHi J,
ReplyDeleteI never would have guessed the coral was new, I never do William Sonoma (I know gasp :-), I guess now I know what I am missing!! Love those new tumblers too, very summer chic... That deep crocheted edging, pure lust!
A beautiful table... I almost forgot the whales, so fun!!!
Hugs,
Bella
Your nautical touches are so lovely and I love the serendipity of finding those nautical placecard holders.. xo marlis
ReplyDeletePure serenity! The crocheted lace on that runner is just divine!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely table! I always enjoy seeing lace, and yours is especially beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDid you know the "tumblers" are really jelly jars? The little metal lids are the tip-off. Way back when, homemakers would make their jelly, pour it hot into jars like that, then seal the top with a layer of hot paraffin wax. To store the jars and keep them clean, they would lay one of those metal lids over it. They didn't put jelly through a water bath like other home canned jars.
Dear AD:
ReplyDeleteYup, I actually did know this. I have sold a number of these in the shop. So many vintage things are being used in new ways. I might use these as juice glasses, but I just love the way they look with the rusty lids!
so many wonderful pieces but i am smitten with your whale lovers :)

Hi Jacqueline,
ReplyDeleteI am still loving your map. I had plans to make a tablescape with a old map all summer and I will get it done soon. I have been very busy with the kids home from school. I so enjoy your cool subtle whites and I always love how you pair them with brown. It is just perfect. Thanks for linking it up at HSH!
