Romantic Notions

It doesn't seem to take much to inspire me to romantic style. The merest snippet of old linen or lace will do. Or a bit of rust. . . the curve of a piece of garden wire . . . the musty smell of an antique page. Some of us just seem to have been born suggestible.

My inspiration today is this linen mantel cloth with a few small holes. Often referred to as cutters, these old pieces have serious flaws that render them useless for their original intent, and can be turned into something new with a little creativity. I have baskets full, and all the romantic notions to go with them. This one will dress my sofa for a short while, doing nothing more than making me happy and content for a few summer days and nights.

I hope you're finding a little Romance in your Summer too!
Ciao! for now!

Jacqueline

Time for another Romantic White Wednesday!

  1. Jacqueline!
This summer white post is so pretty.
Reminds me of the white summer slip covers my grandmother used to use in her country farmhouse when I was little!
    So dreamy... and romantic too.
    Pretty post.
    Thanks for sharing.
