Hello to all of you good and faithful friends and followers! It's been good of you to keep popping in with a cheery word or two while I've been so busy the last few weeks. We have been consuming summer with a great and ravenous gusto here, just as if it were the luscious banquet that it actually is!
This is our last day of Granny Camp. While I haven't been online to visit much, I have been doing an old fashioned "booting up" with a couple of magazines, and I just had to share this one with you. I found it at the grocery, or maybe Target. Do whatever you have to in order to get a copy!!! You fellow linen lovers will go out of your mind with ecstasy.
Monogrammed vintage silver and china too. . . .
Here are a few of my own recent silver finds. The fork and knife set are ivory. I found them together with the celluloid cake knife for twenty dollars at a fleamarket. The large spoon was not a particularly big bargain at ten dollars, but I got it at a little roadside shop that I stopped into along the highway somewhere when the owner came running out of a home to open up. I felt I needed to make it a little worth her trouble. So many of these places are disappearing these days, and then where oh where will we be able to find these things?
The dust and clutter has gotten piled pretty high around here of late. I'm taking a hard look around to find my own little beauties here and there to share with you until I can polish things up again!
A few dusty projects piling up too!
I hope you're able to locate this special issue by Victoria Magazine. I know you will love it!
Jacqueline

Oh My.....what a magazine!!!! I bought it the moment I saw it on the Newsstand! I love most anything monogramed. I'm planning on new dining room chairs with a monogram in the backrest. Outstanding addition to anyone's magazine collection. I will wear it out just looking and drooling over it!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi J,
ReplyDeleteLooks so good! I was looking on the magazine racks yesterday (before I saw THIS), and didn't find anything good :-( Now I have to go back and see if this is there yet! Yummy flatware!! Glad summer is treating you right :-)

ReplyDeleteThat is the magazine of my dreams! Thank you for the information. I will have everyone out there looking for one for me. Have you ever had your photos published in Victoria. They certainly are worthy.

Jackie, I saw the Victoria monogram magazine at my supermarket and grabbed it. Anything that Victoria puts out I buy. I love Southern Lady and Celebrations both put out by Phyllis Hoffman Depiano the editor of Victoria. Thank the Good Lord she brought Victoria back!!

I just love Victoria magazine and I will be sure to find a copy of this issue. I have a subscription, but I think this is a special issue not included. Love all your special treasures... and who wants to dust when the summer sun is shining! The ivory handled silver is wonderful. Hope your week is wonderful, too! xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the plater with the eyelet lace doily hanging over the shelf! Stop by. I posted doily flower to time washed:)
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting about this magazine, Jacqueline. I haven't found it yet but will continue to search. It looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely eye-opener! The first picture is more or less the embroidery that I let go (12 napkins) almost 100% coverage in lt grey on white. I kept pulling out one pc of beautifully embroidered pc after another for a pair of ladies who amassed them all and left. Thanks to the language barrier they could not communicate their thanks either :).
ReplyDeleteThey must've thought I was cuckoo to look at them, enjoy and let them go.
I guess, I enjoy your pictures and posts a lot more!
