I've noticed that wall calendars seem to be going the way of books and paper. What was once as essential as a broom and dish cloth for the functioning of a household, is now somewhat dispensable for plugged in people.
Maybe that's why calendars have become such works of art. I showed you a fantastic bird calendar from Cavallini & Co. last month. This one is from Papaya, and has a bit more glitz and sparkle. I found it at Kepler's in Palo Alto, CA, but it's available online. An address is at the bottom of this post.
It will indulge the girlie stuff impulse in you, and is maybe perfect tucked into your powder room or clothes closet.
I'm also featuring my somewhat girlie English rose china teacup with it. The saucer is an orphan. I'm always asked for the pattern, so here it is.
The shell pink interior has a nice subtlety about it, and is perfect paired with birds and blooms!
Here are a few sample pages. . . .
Doesn't it just bust the cheery meter? I hope your last official weekend of summer does the same!
Have a great one!
Ciao! for now!

My Cheery Meter just blew it's needle off! What a beautiful entry and of course your pics were what set the needle flying.

Goodness! That brought back memories! I used to do commercial loans at Crocker Bank in Palo Alto which doesn't exist anymore so you know I am over 35, and use to love shopping at Kepler's. They had the best stuff! I love the calendar. Good ones are definitely works of art!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and for a small dose of nostalgia!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful - both the calendar and your cup etc. I miss a nice selection of calendars. I'm so glad I held on to years of old ones and have been using parts of them for my garden scrapbook journals.

That is the prettiest pink rose teacup!! And I love your gorgeous calendar too. I still have them on my wall. I have to buy two every year, one for the office and one by the kitchen phone. Even my daughter, who is totally plugged in to her phone and all it's apps, loves to have a pretty wall calendar by her desk.

what a gorgeous calendar..such eye candy!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and dreamy. HPS!
ReplyDeleteI have been using and loving calendars since my girls were babies--and that's a long time! Since I was so poor then, the darling pictures were my wall art!! And every year I have to have at least 2 or 3 or 4! I know what you mean about the selection of calendars diminishing--at least in the stores. Last year I looked everywhere for a porch calendar---I just love being able to look at a beautiful sunny porch when we are socked in the gray. And I couldn't find one! (but a dear friend gave me a beautiful, colorful vintage flower seed catalog one to brighten my life!) A few weeks ago at Michael's I found a porch calendar and snatched it up. Your Birds and Blooms one is just so beautiful! Thanks for sharing it with us. And that cup and saucer is the perfect partner. Very sweet, charming, and cheery!
ReplyDeleteLove, Kay
Pretty images, lovely cup! Happy pink Sat :)
