There's not a lot of natural light in the master bedroom, which is just fine for sleeping, but taking photos in here is a bit tricky.
Artificial light improves things somewhat, but also casts shadows that I don't notice while I'm propped up reading in bed!
I love Maria's Dreamy Whites serene French farmhouse style, for instance, but Joy's Savvy City Farmer rooms that appear in Romantic Prairie Style just give me a thrill!
I always incorporate the darker tones and touches of gold that are found in Joy's home, and have a higher number of "objays" that I use in vignettes. I'll probably never have just a lamp and a drink of water by the bed! Here's a look at my bedside table all straightened up and dusted off.
The tapestry is a reproduction souvenir I brought back from Venice.
The glass lamp, drinking glass, and perfume bottle are vintage.
I found this small original watercolor portrait at a fleamarket. The seller may have thought it was a print. It reminds me of a Dutch Master, and has a signature that turned up nothing in my cursory research. Isn't she fine?
Do you have any bedside treasure? Do tell!
I hope you're off to the start of a great new week!
Ciao! for now!
Jacqueline

Hi J,
ReplyDeleteOh I see the best of the linens have been stashed in the boudoir:-) What a gorgeous coverlet and those dripping in lace pillow slips.... sigh..... Are the back euro shams RA? I had a set of them in pink and they kept falling between the iron rails, I had to retuen them :-(
Love the cluttered nighttable, I can't do the minimalist thing either, treaures are to be seen, and that painting is a treasure, stunning really!!
I think the lighting you captured is beautiful soft, moody and romantic:-)
Hugs,
Bella

What a beautiful haven you have created!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your home will be gracing the pages of a book someday!
Generally my decorating tends to the "more is better" school. HOWevah, the bedside table has to remain mostly clear due to the most prominent decoration being a spoiled 10 pound cat!!!!! She sleeps there most nights...making sure that we don't have anything to eat that she doesn't get a share of! She also wants to be sure to be close at hand so that when the clock in the hall chimes 6 times, she can start licking my ear and patting me on the face.....ahhhhh....an automated alarm clock :^)
ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful no matter what you put where!!
Have a good week,
J
