I've been craving farmhouse red. Maybe it's all those colorful displays we've been seeing lately. I've said before that I can't live with a lot of red up close and personal EVERY day. But I need it every once in awhile. Sort of like I need anchovies. A little goes a long way.
Can checks and stripes be done in a better color? I've gotten out my vintage farmhouse cotton and linen towels to use as napkins. Nothing feels more indulgent to me than a thick soft cottony swath of cloth in my hand while I'm at table. Some crisp whites for balance, and a bit of vintage glass rounds things out.
I've taken up station under the trees for a bit of cookbook browsing. I have a new one that makes my mouth water every time I open it.
After seeing it in House Beautiful, I had no success finding it locally until I tumbled upon it at ANTHROPOLOGIE!! People flock to Ottolenghi's London restaurant for these vegetable dishes. It won't bore you.
We're still plucking a few garden peppers outside the back door. And the herbs seem to go on forever. It's easy to imagine on a day like this that the gorgeous weather will go on and on too. . . .
I hope your lovely weekend goes on and on too!
Thanks for stopping by!
Ciao! for now!

Beautiful reds...and I am crazy for those glasses!
ReplyDeleteRed is not truly my color, I prefere blue, sand greys... But sometimes, like you, I like have it around me, in small doses and married with white: i't so fresh and welcoming.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day

I have made a deliberate decision to leave red mostly out in my blue and green home, but a girl's got to get her fix somewhere.

ReplyDeleteTruly stunning vignettes! I adore those glasses! I have some kitchen towels that look a lot like your napkins - except they aren't vintage but from Williams Sonoma. And the quilt is just wonderful. Yep, I love the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteThe red and white looks so crisp in the shade of the tree. Love the vintage linens and quilt!
ReplyDeleteYes, a little red goes a long way! I think I tell you every week that your linen collection is gorgeous! I do like those vintage tumblers...
ReplyDeleteYou will find touches of red and white throughout my home. Red gives a room a cozy feeling and I painted my family room and powder room the same shade of red. I love it. I love the vintage red and white kitchen towels.
