Endless Weekend

(AP photo)
This was our weekend for the annular eclipse. A perfect view in Albuquerque. "Annular" refers to a perfect ring. And everything about the event was perfect.

Our family gathering for a graduation weekend culminated in the spectacular event on the last day. Just before sundown. Young and old, faces to the sky in anticipation. We made our filters like kids doing a third grade project, and then oooh-ed and aaaw-ed together.

It was the perfect endless weekend for kicking off an endless summer.

One of the new youngsters in the family tried to climb a large tree and fell back awkwardly onto the lawn. I let out a good laugh. The nine year old turned to me and said, "I've never had a grown-up laugh when I fell out of a tree." I was thinking, "And I've never heard a child your age hear a horse whinny and ask 'what was that?'" Who would guess that these days simply being outside could be an adventure.

My bunch of roses is from Costco. Sweet small blooms. And I have to use the word perfect again for the weather. Our usual clear skies, and the days a perfect temperature. A cooling breeze wafting in for perfect sleeping weather. . . .

Today feels more Monday than usual.
We're exhausted! But in a good way.
I hope your week is off to an awesome and shining start!

Jacqueline

  2. I just love, love, love the pictures. I had to chuckle also about the child that didn't know about horse sounds... Isn't it a strange day we live in? Hope your Monday is restful.

  8. I'm glad you got to see the eclipse there. It was not visible here in the northeast and I didn't even hear about it! We had the best weather this weekend with wall to wall sunshine from Thursday through today and temperatures in the 80's, which is rare for May here. It's been glorious! However, it must come to an end with showers the next 2 days. Your photos are beautiful as are the roses. Enjoy the week. Pamela

  10. Your yard is gorgeous, as are all of your photos! Thanks for the eclipse photo. Of course, here in the Pacific NW, we were under a very thick, dark layer of clouds, as usual, and couldn't see a thing. We had a few days of sun and warmth last week and it was great, but back to wintry conditions. Thanks for your beautiful blog!! Kay

  21. Oh, I love coming to your blog. Your photos are beautiful and I love seeing how you put together and bits and pieces. We, too, enjoyed the eclipse in AZ. No one else to share it with but our far-away children loved the photo of us in our goggles. Have a wonderful weekend!
