China, Red Tulips, & Lace

Beautiful red tulips arrived yesterday. So I brought them out for a portrait in the sun.

Well, under a shade tree, actually.  They are dressed up and ready, with a few bits of china and a little froth of linen for company.

A few vintage things out in the open air without anything modern to distract you can take you worlds away.

You can imagine you're living in a little French village, for instance.

Or conjure up a gathered trousseau from a century ago. . . .

Where shall we go tomorrow?
Enjoy your travels!

Jacqueline

  5. Jacqueline,
I usually leave your blog to view for the evening. With your soft pastel hued photography, I come away peaceful and ready for rest. Today, I dared allow myself to break routine with the hint of red tulips! Now I am revived and fresh to begin my evening rituals of preparing a meal and attacking the pile of laundry awaiting my attention! Always, dear friend, an inspiration abounds form Cabin & Cottage!
    Fondly,
    Pat
