Me & Ikea

I'm fresh off of my first fun foray into IKEA! Turns out there is one in Draper, Utah on our way to Park City. Here's what a one hour spin in the ginormous world of Ikea turned up.

Nice room-sized displays of how everything works together.

A place to eat where trendy young folks needing STUFF hang out on a Sunday morning.

I love all the ways with storage this place has. Except for wall art (minimal) I didn't find one other thing that was simply for decoration.

Tons of fun lighting.

Well priced furniture. (Well, it's all well priced.)

Plenty of cush to soften the modern style.

I did love the  wall sized "destination"  framed photos.

Looky here LouLou!

Huge.

Ten thousand of everything.

Every modular thing you have ever seen in your life.

Yum!!

Fluffy dusters anyone?

Yum part dieux.

Drawer liners.

 Seventy-nine cents each.

Step stools.

Furniture knobs.

Every good Scandinavian interior has a few of these.

I bought four of the white linen tie top pillow covers. Yay!

I'm so glad to be in on the secret!
Hope your having a fun day too!
Ciao! for now!

Jacqueline

  4. You make me want to go AGAIN... Is it just me or do you see great IKEA photos and then when you get there it's so overwhelming you forget to check out everything you wanted to check out??

  5. It is a big overwhelming isn't it.!!! I have to drive about an hours and a half to get to one, so my one and only trip did it for me. Great pics. Hugs, Marty

  6. I absolutely love Ikea! There is something for everyone and the price is usually spot on! I'm lucky enough to have one only 30 minutes from my house and frequent it often with my daughter. I really enjoyed your post and all the great pictures you took!

  7. That was such an accurate pictorial representation of Ikea - haha! They do have it all, don't they, if you like it modern. Thanks for sharing the bounty :)

  8. Hi Jacqueline,
Catching up a bit--so you're in Utah? That IKEA is very close to Kelly's, and I've been there once with her. But we have one an hour's drive away by the airport. Since I needed to pick someone up at the airport last wednesday, I dropped into IKEA for the first time in a long, long time. I made a quick trip through. Good thing they put those arrows all over! A person could easily get lost in the maze! ha! Your photos are great. Didn't see those linen pillow covers--they're beautiful. Your photos of Park City are just gorgeous. Ben's photo was beautiful, too!
Oh--and just a few weeks ago, a new stationary shop opened in our outdoor mall---and it had the birds and blooms calendar! Yea!!Thanks for posting about that to us.
Have a great week in that beautiful countryside! Kay

  10. I love Ikea but the nearest one is in Montreal - a day and a half away! Not a place I'd drive to just to shop. You took some great photos. I'm wondering if you were daring enough to use your camera or phone? Have a great week! Pamela

  17. A thumbnail of this post caught my eye, and I was excited it featured IKEA. A trip to Orlando is in my plans for this week. Hope to find the lights in your first picture. IKEA can be overwhelming, but well worth it. I find so many inexpensive and useful things there. Plan plenty of time, and "nose" in every crook and cranny. The second time there is easier and less threatening. Thanks for sharing.

  20. Loved your trip to Ikea! I stay away from there ... not enough in the car to bring home everything I want! :D :D :D I gave you some blog love on my blog this morning and used one of your photos. I hope that is okay. I did link to your blog and the photo should have a caption, but I guess Blogger is burping today and it didn't show up!

  22. I have become a bit addicted to IKEA lately. They just opened one in Denver not long ago (and I'm only 30 minutes away!). My 4-year-old daughter likes to go and play in Smaland while I shop! I've bought the enamel-style kitchen lighting for over my island, the white slipcovered sofa, some curtains, and tons of small decorative items! In fact, we're heading back there today to exchange some curtains haha! AND the best part is that they give me FREE COFFEE for being an IKEA family member - talk about winning their way into my heart! : ) Have a great week! ~Destiny
