Mother Goose

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe.... That's how the nursery rhyme begins. And that's also how we know Mother Goose had a sense of  humor.

I've always been amused by the rhyme, so when I came across this vintage Royal Doulton nursery bowl I had to have it. It sits with my transferware collection and this English Stafforshire shoe.

Decorating with white might calm her nerves and gain some visual space!

Bunny is currently reading the bunny-sized version of Autumn by Jill Barklem of the Brambly Hedge series. Now out of print, the SPRING, SUMMER, AUTUMN, WINTER quartet is essential nursery reading.

Thanks so much for your quiet nursery visit today!
 (Shhh! Nanny sleeping!)

  2. Jacqueline, I don't have children, but I'm swooning over your darling plate and shoe. I've never seen these. Great finds!
Hold onto and take good care of your bunny size Brambly Hedge Series. I saw some of the Nutshell Mini Library sets at Half Price Books in the "collectors" locked cabinet ~ $75. Makes me appreciate the little sets I have. ;-)
