Blue Lovelies

It's hard for me to imagine any Victorian Lady or Gentleman any more pleased than I am to have this vanity set beside the basin in the morning. As though straight from the pages of this Victoria publication,  my antique china beauties encourage a return to the loveliness of an earlier era.

I was lucky to find two of a set of vanity dishes together in the unlikeliest locale possible. But that's the beauty of true "flea" markets.

I could see a few cracks and chips in the lids, but had no real idea what I would find after removing the mega industrial tape strapping the tops on.

Such is the nature of the hunt! But the gray-blue pattern of this aesthetic movement transferware alone was worthy enough in its "as found" state.

And I was thrilled to find a draining plate completely intact inside one soap dish.

The ivory creaminess of the base color is as luscious as white chocolate.

The china nestles in perfectly with my undyed antique linen homespun towels.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing the thrill with me!
Ciao! for now!
