Maybe you won't want to buy The World of Downton Abbey unless you are really into the series. But the volume as artifact lives up to the rarefied Downton air. Here is a sample of a few luscious pages mixed in with props. (I couldn't help but want to get into some of the action myself!)
The book is shown here with the dust cover off in a gorgeous powder blue.
I love the script overwritten on some of the photos throughout.
The satiny end papers in gold showing the Downton crest invented for the show.
I hope you'll excuse me. . . . I have to go round up the kitchen maid now to polish some silver. (Or is that the butler's job?) I can't really hear you anyway. The shooting party has started up! But I hope your week is truly grand!

Beautiful post. I am a DA fan too. Can't wait for season 3.
I saw this book when I visited my girl at college. I will probably buy it as I am gone over the show. You certainly did it justice.
Lady Jacqueline,
Hope you get that silver polished, when done, won't you be so kind as to lend me your stuff and have them come around to my estate to so the same, please?
Much obliged, ma'am.
Best regards,
Lady Finch
Wonderful. I enjoyed the series, and it will be a joy to peruse the pages of this volume to revisit sweet memories of this timeless saga. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
That show, its settings, its people, are all luminously lovely... nice book!
You got the book!! Last week I was on their webpage and it's beautiful and loaded with pictures and info. I love the digital photo collages! I like my silver tarnished. I had to smile when I saw yours with the same look!
Beautiful photos and book! Is that book available at Chapters or only on line? Pamela
I got mine at a local Barnes & Noble bookstore, but PBS also has it, Pamela!
This is a beautiful book and a beautiful post. I didn't want to watch the last episode of this season so it wouldn't end! Dianne

What a beautiful book, made even better with your lovely personal added touch! Lovely post, Jacqueline!
I have the book and have been busy learning the art of being an aristrocrat! I actually thought I was getting the actual story line in the series. But it has been fun reading! Who would have thought to look past the cover to the actual book. Love the blue and your photos of the pieces that go right along with Downton Abby! You are a gift!
This is a must have book, in my book and I just ordered it and will be here in 2 days...two long days. Thank you for posting this...
What a lovely setting you have posted for us Downton Abbey fans. Thank you for the feeling of being in another era. Paula Lusk

OMG, I just LOVE this show!! Can't wait 'till season 3 will be shown!
OK, now I need one too! It looks so luscious and can help tide us over until Season 3 starts! Your photos are just beautiful and so in keeping with the Downton spirit. Now, if I could find a pendant or a brooch with that crest!
Have a happy week!
Robin
What a beautiful Book !!!
I have just started watching it. And already I love it.
Quite a different world from what I will ever know for sure. But that is part of the intrigue.
Your photos were lovely
I can't get enough of the show, I've watched every episode at least twice, some of them 3 times! Now I need the book, thanks for sharing such beautiful photos!

I would love to own the world of Downton Abbey...it is such a "dreamy" world...one loses itself. and of course I love your little silver jug/pitcher...could've jumped from the book into modern world?

I didn't realize there was a book. Is it the novel version of the movie or just lots of pretty pictures from the show? Either way it looks just lovely and you have managed to make it even prettier with your lovely pictures and additions. I'm sure you have single handedly boosted book sales.
When are you going to publish your book? Remember I said I'd be your first customer :)

I LOVED your glorious book tour. You transported me to another world through your beautiful photos. For a few minutes I was in a totally different realm and it was magical. Perhaps thatis what our blogs are really for. To take us to far away places for a new perspective and to be replenished and refilled. Thankyou.

i am a downtonite if there ever was one and bought the book about a month ago at b&n, the last one they had on the table. having grown up in england and met a few lords and lady's myself, i have remained an anglophile to the max.
although my art is latin inspired (colorful and bright), my home is entirely british down to the irish linen towels of double-decker buses, story books from my infancy such as "the wind in the willows" and an english garden with yarrow mixed in with the roses.
downtonite unite! as i cheerfully sing..."there'll always be an england".
I love Downton Abbey and your post has caught the flavor to a "t!" I must have the book now!!! Thanks for a beautiful post!
Lovely post I am so looking forward to one day having the pleasure of watching this series.
Yes who's job is it anyways to polish the silver? Good thing we don't polish around here since I'm the only servant we have. Or maybe hubby is the servant. He serves me up my tea in bed now and then. REALLY!
I'm already dreading the end of the 3rd season. Isn't that nuts?
Love revisiting the story here on your beautiful blog.
hugs
Carole
