Just a few of my favorite things today! I found a nice new ironstone pitcher while visiting some of the kiddos, and had my son ship it home to me. Thanks Ben! I think these are Peace roses inside of it. Are all peachy/yellow roses Peace roses? (I think peace roses are more yellow with just a tinge of pink--) I love to decorate with white roses, and love the look of them, but the color of these just cheers me up and has long been a favorite of mine.
My new favorite bench is a barely pink chippy version with a slot for carrying. It must be pine because it's pretty light to carry. It fits perfectly at the head (or end) of my dining table and really lightens things up. It's quite old, and I think one might safely call it a primitive. What do you think?
I thought a vignette in front of my favorite chippy cabinet might show off the barely pink color. And I think everything looks sweeter with some smooth folded linens on top!
And of course I have a soft spot for delicate crocheted pieces. This small tablesquare draped over the bench is one of my very favorites. It feels completely cottage farmhouse country to me. My favorite decorating feeling.
The whole set up is capturing the mood I'm in lately. Thinking of spring and enjoying soft colors. Wanting to avoid too many objects and strong tones. Something just nice, and quiet, and soft. . . .
All righty then!
Thanks for popping by!
I hope you're having a great week!
Jacqueline

ReplyDeletePinks and whites are my all time favorites. I seem to never tire of them. Your post is lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. I have to say that reading your blog is the reason I painted our dining room white. Now I think you may get me hooked on white pitchers. I will start looking for some soon.

ReplyDeleteI love that shade of pink and the simplicity of everything. Looks like it came right out of a magazine. You really should create a book with all your beautiful collections and photos. I would be the first to buy one. Your own version of Victoria.

HI Jacqueline. You know just the other day I was looking at a site with Prim decor, but the colors were light, neutral, not dark at all. And I thought I have always liked the prim look, but the light colors. Which in a way is Shabby chic...
ReplyDeleteLove the distressed wood, pale, sanded.
I love your pink stool and the white chippy cupboard. It is perfect with the flowers. great decorating and pre spring look.
I love it.
blessings,
Debbie
How lovely, Jacqueline! Those are my favorite color roses...and the bench is so sweet...a wonderful vignette!
ReplyDeleteHi Jacqueline,
ReplyDeleteEverything in your vignette is very pretty. But the crochet tablesquare especially caught my attention (you know how crazy I am about crochet lace). I agree, it has that charming cottage farmhouse feeling. And next to the pitcher with roses it has such calming effect.
That little bench is sweet, but the white cupboard! I love it. I have a new (1981) armoire that I may be giving to one of my daughters. I think it needs to be painted white after seeing yours. Do you mind if I pin a photo of the cupboard? Now I need to go back and look at all your lovely photos again!
ReplyDeleteI took an online survey last week and quite to my surprise it said the color I'm attracted to the most is
ReplyDelete'blush pink'!!!
What?
but here I am looking at all your lovely whites, muted shades of grey and blush pink!
I find it intriguing.
go figure.
Pat

ReplyDeleteEverything is so pretty and your photography is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYour crochet piece is really lovely. I love that color of rose, too, and a bit of color is good for the soul.
