Country Vanilla

My eye is hungry for country white today. Not too bright. Just a homey, cozy, creamy, dreamy color, with a few flecks of brown mixed in. I want it soft and warm like what you get in the best quality melty vanilla ice cream with swirls of caramel, and a dollop of chocolate, and a lacy frothy whip of cream on top. Yum. . . .

What cha got on your plate today?
Hope it's turning out great!

  2. I think you've coined a new phrase or style - 'country vanilla' - I love it! (Or maybe it's 'been out there' and I'm just behind.) Beautiful images.

  9. Jacqueline,
I love Vanilla. When painting my kitchen cabinets several years ago, I went to Sherwin~Williams to find that perfect paint hue. A young man led me to the White Collection paint chips to browse. A puzzled look on his face when I arrived at the counter with no choice of color, prompted this conversation. "I'm looking for that hue of freshly melted Vanilla Ice Cream that you get on a Fourth of July day that rests next to your homemade cherry pie." Smiles and a few minutes later he came to the counter with a gallon of the most "perfect" hand mixed paint. I adore it! Mixed just for me...so I thought! I LOVE,LOVE, LOVE this post!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  29. Such evocative and inspiring photographs, with all those lovely shades of white and sepia. I have that same brown and white tureen! I keep it on the kitchen counter to hold eggs. What I had on my plate this weekend was homemade peanut butter cookies. :)
