Blessing The Ordinary

This may be my last ordinary day of summer for awhile. Ordinary in a very good way, as when you say "I wish things would just get back to normal." Whatever normal is. But I've been taking time out for the kind of days that I've always imagined were normal in my crazy busy days of years and years. Now waking to the dawn. Not having to go anywhere or do anything. A sort of string of Sundays or weekends or vacation days. Bliss.

I woke up wanting green in my life. Green on my table, on the china, and in the food.

Wanting the simpleness of  fresh veggies when it's too hot to cook and sort of mindless to do it anyway. This recipe is from our friend Ina, again. The barefoot contessa of barefoot ways.

Flat Beans With Pecorino

I'll be putting my shoes back on again very soon, and making way for more active fun and frolic in the summer sun. Glad for the opportunity, and back to wondering what I ever did with all my free time. But today I just have ordinary on the table. . . .

Let the fun and games begin!
Hope it's going well for you too whatever you're up to!

Jacqueline

  7. Hi J,
    Well happy summer to you!!
Gorgeous, and much more than ordinary! I love that it looks like a fresh cool summer day at your place, when I know it's not (100 ouch! we are still breaking the 70's I made soup two days ago :-( ) The Green and white, delicious, the stunning shots of the clear glass (love that lighting!), make the day look as cool as it is long...
    Happy adventures to you!
    Hugs,
    Bella

  19. Hi Jacqueline, wonderful-wonderful post! Your blog is a place to have a peaceful moment... love coming here.
What do you use to make your linens so white? I came across a few vintage pieces but they have some yellow marks. I would like to get rid of it. Any suggestions? Thanks! :)
