How long we have waited for this moment! For the return of the ritual opening of the doors and pausing at the start of day to survey the happenings on the patio.
Such a small thing. But how it colors the whole day.
The air is always so still, no matter what the rest of the day brings. And there's always so much ahead to do.
A little bird song. A bit of fresh air. Green. And a small bloom. The perfect recipe for a perfect spring day. . . .
Happy weekend!
Jacqueline
P.S. Here's a nice recipe post for Hummingbird Cake that I saw on FB! Doesn't that sound perfect for spring?
P.P.S. Have you heard about Carolyn Aiken's new book? She's having a giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI love how well your thyme and mint is doing - awesome!
Your spaces are always so incredibly beautiful.
We have a perfect day today - and a bunch of us from my women's club went to the Columbus Art Museum Decorator's Home Show - the pro designers all did a portion of the house - all cohesive - to a 1022 built manor, oh my gosh oh my GOSH was it gorgeous! No pics were allowed. Boo.
Anyway, before that went to brunch at one of the best restaurants in our city downtown and were able to dine outdoors. Truly was the most perfect day.
Hugs.
I long for the day that I open the French doors and step out (barefoot) onto the warm terrace stones, cup of coffee in hand. Til then, I'll dream.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely photos. Love your pink roses.
ReplyDeleteSpring is always most welcome after a cold Winter, lovely flowers help too.

I can hardly wait to spend a day getting my porch ready. We just need some warmer weather.
ReplyDeleteI love that pretty pink plant and all your white pottery and watering jugs.
Jacqueline, your terrace would be where I'd like to spend my morning. It's all charming! The little pink bloom is adorable. What is this plant?

How lovely your patio looks.Spring is so beautiful, after cold weather and not much in the garden. It makes one feel more alive. We have to get through Autumn and Winter first. That is if we ever get Autumn,it's still beautiful sunny days, not that I mind,,x
ReplyDeleteAh, sunlight and flowers outside the door. I am waiting patiently for my day to come, there's nothing more pleasing than my morning coffee out on the deck.
ReplyDeleteYour special area is pretty.

I love blogging. I get to read so many wonderful blogs like yours with all these little and big inspirations. Today it's these little shots of the porch that inspire me to do something with my porch.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's that time of year when we get to enjoy your beautiful patio and flowers. Your garden is always a treat for the eyes, Jacqueline.

Spring is certainly bursting at your house! Beautiful images.

Oh, your garden is well ahead of ours here in Ohio, but I know exactly what you mean, about stepping out into the early morning before "life" begins. Because we have a screened porch, it's all I can do to hurry up and get out there to enjoy the silence (except for the birds, especially the mourning doves I adore), to have breakfast. Your spot in the world is lovely, as are your plants. ~Zuni
ReplyDeletebeautiful, jacqueline:) hope your weekend was a good one!
ReplyDeleteHi Jaqueline, so sweet of you to come by my blog and compliment me, thank you! Have a great week, Christie

Your patio looks so inviting and full of spring, Jacqueline! You make me long to get the screens in on the verandah and bring all my garden furniture outdoors. Thank you for that Hummingbird Cake recipe... it looks delicious and perfect for a spring tea. It is so lovely to start the day peering out into the garden when all is quiet and only you and the birds are wakeful. Wishing you many mornings like that now that the fair weather has returned!
