Pottery is an easy and accessible one to assemble. And makes a big impact.
There is an endless variety of shapes and sizes.
And even matte or shiny glazed finishes in different hues.
And then there is all the stuff you can display along side them.
"White is capable of endless subtleties; ever fresh, ever responsive, it is the only color that can fill the whole house with beauty without becoming irritating, strident, or tiresome. It also unifies as no other color can, smoothing rough corners, slipping past small faults, encircling disparate objects in a single, very personal composition."
Jeanine Larmoth, Victoria, At Home With White
Pottery is one assemblage that seems to accumulate all on its own.The only question remains--once again--where does it all want to be?
Thanks for stopping by! And Ciao! for now!

I have found recently that "all white" draws my attention more than anything else. It invites you in to explore. I love all the "stuff" (my favorite word) you have with your collections. So subtle. and beautiful.

Great pottery, love it all together. My favorites I collect are the old white ironstone that is a bit stained and the color is off. I love the look of the old stuff that shows its wear.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Sue
Hi Jacqueline,
ReplyDeleteYour bowl with the raised bamboo design is awesome!

Jacqueline, so glad you stopped by today..nice to meet you! I love all your white pottery..a real treat to see. Now as far as the little bird plate you mentioned from my pictures, it does has a lot of staining (which personally, I like), and I do have one more just like it....so...it's yours if you want it, or if you would prefer one that is not stained, I can send that one. Just email me your address and I'll send it to you. The set is by Wedgwood, called "Liverpool Birds" and they date back to the late 1800's. I have over 100 pieces, and I've been selling some of the extra plates and stuff that I don't need.
