Vera and Her Friends

Vera says," Not everyone is my friend."

"When the orange tomcat is around, we all quickly hide under the table."

"He'll probably be gone by the time the tea has cooled."

"But we'll keep trembling for a long time afterwards!"

From Vera and Her Friends, Vera the Mouse Books,
by Marjolein Bastin, 1985, out of print.

Thanks for stopping by! Ciao! for now!

Hi there Jacqueline,
What a charming post! I love your teacup, and the teapot is just gorgeous, too! We have my husband's mother's collection of teacups, and one of these days I need to do a post about them. Have a great day!

All your teawares are lovely. That pink and white teapot has such an unusual shape. Your embroidered tablecloth is beautiful too.

I just discovered you through my blog.
Yes I almost fainted when I received the box of china.
I love your blog! You have a lovely way with words. They just roll gently together and create a beautiful thought or image. You have a great eye for arranging your treasures. You have inspired my heart. Thank you.
I am excited to be a new follower.
I hope you will join us soon. The other tea ladies will swoon when they see your pictures and give them a smile to last all day. You are always welcome for tea.
Blessings, Pam

A beautiful post, so soft and feminine... and Marjolein Bastin is one of my favorite artists/illustrators. I have purchased many of her cards in Walgreens to send only to find that I cannot bear to part with them!

I am so glad I found your blog. Thanks for the inspirations... Karen

When I worked, I looked after the Hallmark cards in our store. Vera the Mouse was one of my favourites! The tiny cards and envelopes were so cute.
Your cup and saucer are pretty, as is the tablecloth.
