Bohemian Style

I took a quick trip for family business and came home with a cold! But I also managed to get a few fun shots of the little place that my niece Joanna is setting up for the summer at her parents guest house in Santa Barbara.

The place is small, but what it may lack in the interior it makes up for in spades on the outside. There are little patios that surround the whole apartment located on the second floor of a large garage/ workspace on the property. And what a great start Joanna has on making this beautiful terrace her own!

Everything she loves just whispers "Bohemian Style" to me. On her last day of finals she got busy dressing out the corners of this dreamy balcony terrace. Both of us were entranced by visions of languorous afternoons and evenings spent entertaining out here.

She rescued this wonderfully weathered grey wicker furniture for one little private corner outside of her front door, and dressed it in cushions and a few favorite textiles she has been saving.

A sweet vintage embroidered runner decorates the seat.

Potted plants are a big component of Boho style, and Joanna has her favorites. Her side table vignette includes one of her many collected figurine treasures.

The table was a roadside find, and the striped cotton cover is from a trip to Turkey.

Taking the long view.

And all the views are spectacular! This is the arbor we pass through to get to her place from the villa up top.

The horse paddock down below.

The front view always reminds me of the Sabrina movie with Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond. This would make charming chauffeur's quarters with the cars right below.

What a lovely spot to live in for awhile with your favorite dog and pony!

You might remember Huey from another post.

A perfect place to relax after a hectic semester. Or anytime!

I have some catching up to do as usual.

But I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Jacqueline
