A Bit Before & Way After The Festivites

Just sayin' hi! And showing you the two photos I took before we set everything up for the wedding. This was the welcome sign the kids got ready to greet guests.

The weather held out. And we were able to get the three toddlers out of the locked bathroom after the handle fell off on the inside of the door an hour before the wedding.

But it's all over now. The lawn is beginning to recover, and the mounds of bedding and table linen have all been washed.

Besides the wedding, we got to the zoo, threw a fifteenth birthday party, and one day went for a swim.

This is my quiet companion for a little while now as we smooth things out. I'm a little exhausted, exhilarated, and have a bit of a back ache and sore throat.

Feelin' a bit rumpled.

But I've ironed just a few things for therapy. The small pieces.

And one or two favorites.

There's a pile or two that will never get done. . . .

It's been a sweet and wonderful time. We would do it again next week if we could!

Thanks so much for all your wonderful well wishes!
I'm looking forward to catching up to you all again!

Jacqueline

  2. Sounds like you had a great time although somewhat hectic but there is nothing like having family around. I always find that it's rewarding to clean when everyone is gone and get back to "normal"?
    Thank you for sharing!

  4. I have been thinking about you all weekend and since! My brother there, said that Saturday was pretty windy, so I was a bit worried for you. Sounds like it all worked out well!
I have my ironing board up, too, but I don't perceive it as relaxing as you do! With our rain and 45 degree weather, a nap sounds pretty good! Hope you get one too.

  7. Wow, how do you keep up. But I bet it was a blast. I can't wait to see some pics. I love how you use ironing as therapy. Can I send you some of my linens to iron??? lol.

    Get some rest.

  8. I just love the chalkboard sign. How true that is! I'm glad everything went really well and you all had a fun time celebrating the wedding and other life moments too. It's a big job to host in one's own yard for an event like that. We did our daughter's wedding in the yard (with a caterer) but all the other work was enough. Now you can relax. :)

  21. You make ironing look wonderful, Jacqueline...it would be relaxing ironing those beautiful linens! The wedding and all of your family activities sound so fulfilling and exciting...I have a summer like that coming up, too with many birthdays, my parents 60th anniversary, and my daughter's wedding. Life's moments to savor...

  22. Congratulations on the wedding, Jacqueline! I'm sure you came through it beautifully and that everything looked exquisite with your special touch. I'm certain it must have been therapeutic to sit/stand and iron your linens for awhile, letting your mind wander. I hope your back and throat improved. (And what a lovely sign... a wonderful sentiment for bringing people together.)
