I don't know yet if I'll keep it here, but I ended up trying out this little decorative piece in my dining room in a spot that is extremely hard to photograph well.
I still need a cord cover for my chandelier. But the little added detail over the window really finishes it off with the suggestion of the French style that I love.
I'm not into a whole lot of frou frou as a steady diet, but it's been a fun foray into the softer side of a style that I have admired from the sidelines for a long time.
Here's a little better (but not by much) view of the recent changes in my dining room. The door and window trim have gone from a dark wood stain to a lighter brighter painted finish. And the heavy black iron Spanish style light fixture was switched with a sparkly one. This room has so much more light and energy now!
Little Debbie's new Fancy Cakes box with the pale pink stripes I'm loving this summer. . . . Do you laugh every time you see a new Little Debbies box on my blog? Me too! LOL!
Here's a little more frothy china and lace for inspiration. . . .
A nest of ruffles.
Well, fancy is over for now. We're back to business this week with LOTS of catching up to do. How about you? I'm so glad you had time to stop by!

ReplyDeleteDebbie cakes really bring back memories. I was a stay at home Mom for a long time and made all the goodies. At one time I had to go to work and could not make goodies all the time, so we bought the Debbie cakes. I must say those are cute you have pictured.

Oh my goodness those dishes are just gorgeous and love your ruffled napkins! Beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteEverything is beautiful. Love the softness of the white. Your piece over the window makes a great statement. I love it all!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the piece over the window and all the whites everywhere else. I always thought a lot of white would make a place look sterile but adding lace and frills softens it nicely.
ReplyDeleteWhen we were in Florida, I found white Little Debbie butterfly cakes - yummy!
Judith
Totally yummy post!
ReplyDeleteThe frothy china is gorgeous. Those ruffled napkins look so soft - makes me want to touch one!

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. I feel like I go on vacatin when I view your blog. Your photos are just so wonderful. Who doesn't love a Little Debbie every now and then? Dianne
ReplyDeleteUhhhh, no! I don't laugh at your Little Debbie boxes, i immediately go out and find some for myself! This one is a beauty, i'll be at the local grocery store tonight looking for some!
ReplyDeleteYour chandelier is heavenly... one of the prettiest i've seen. Wow... i know you say it's hard to photograph that room, but the ambiance looks wonderful in there. I LOVE the architectural piece too. I don't remember a photo of the trim dark, but i think it's beautiful in the whites. Pretty room, and those little linen napkins are ruffly but so simple and yummy, especially with the silver.
Enchanting, as usual!
Cindy
