Meet my mix and match teacup parade! My mom-in-law would call it a mishmash. And NOT in a good way! Ha! But she's old school, very refined, a darling, and she's almost ninety so she's earned her say! By definition, by the way, a mishmash is "a confused mess". (Wait she WAS referring to the CHINA wasn't she?)
My sister-in-law friend Marsha gave me this cup and saucer. She took one look and knew I would love it. She probably didn't know just how crazy for it I would be! The moss rose is so subtle, and the brown transfer detail makes me shiver! WHoooooo!
Bavarian and French go together like rivalrous but loving cousins.
And these are actually two different Limoges patterns. I am an equal opportunity china collector.
So the star here is the English rosebud saucer. Don't we all need a little saucy support now and then? But I also like keeping company with the let-your-hair-down type even in a teacup! (My hair is almost always down!)
"Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose."
(Gertrude Stein said that. . . have you SEEN Gertrude Stein?)
I hope you have the pinkest of Saturdays!
Thanks for stopping by my little mishmash corner of the world!
Ciao! for now!

Beautiful parade of tea cups and saucers. I have an empty shelf in my dining room. I'm going to start collecting my own mishmash of teacups to display on that shelf.

Lovely mishmash teacups and saucer.... the first teacup was a sweet shade of pink that I just love. I also like how you toped off your post with a beautiful lace edged hankie. I can't get enough of those...
