Falling Back

We spent the "extra" hour taking a quiet walk in the mountain woods.

You've already seen a ton of posts of fall foliage. This is ours.

We hike this trail in the summer and always say we will come back to see it in the fall. This was the year.

We went to Vermont in the fall two years ago, and knew not to expect anything quite like that.

Just the quiet turning of color as we made each bend of the path.

I wanted to collect some things to compose an arty photo or two. But in the end I let nature design her own vignettes.

I feel now like the new month is officially launched.

Welcome to November!
I hope it is just as beautiful for you!

Jacqueline

  1. Jacqueline,
your fall photos capture the colors perfectly! Fall is my favorite time of year, love the oranges, reds and golds of the trees and foliage! The only thing that could make it better is if it lasted a little longer!

  6. Poetry in this season...
Jacqueline dont you love how the path to this beauty is named on that sign bolted to the post? "Crimson Maple" the best beauty nature has to offer. We don't experiance fall like most states, here on the high desert of So Ca. We see very little changes, when we do its in the wild stirring of the high winds, and the wild sage taking on color.
Thank you for sharing your fall walk. I hope you gathered up some of those leaves to press and preserve for your holiday Giving of Thanks table :)

    See you soon.

    Xx

  7. I never tire of fall foliage posts -- especially when we know there is white to follow! And I love seeing posts from various parts of the country and believe it or not, nothing so far from NM!

It sounds like a really wonderful day, just being outside in all that beauty and enjoying a wonderful "day off in the woods." Thanks for sharing it!
