So, when is it NOT time for linens? Linens are my life! (Well, almost.)
These are a few things that I had soaking overnight. Sometimes I wake up and remember that I have a tub of pretty things waiting for me and it cheers me right up! Now isn't that a great way to start a Monday morning?
My work room always has a few of the latest props sitting around and so they are joining the party too.
I love finding old brown bottles with the labels on. Especially for decorating in fall. Ever heard of Rhubarb extract? I have to say it is a first for me. . . I'm also thrilled whenever I can find old clock faces.
A sweet little guest towel joins the collection. The more serious stains soaked right out.
The monogrammed napkins are soft as a baby's bottom. Seriously! And I never turn down a letter B. But really any monogram is fabulous.
This was a set of six, with two napkins being too tattered for use. But I will salvage them for something else. A set of four works for me!
The other gorgeous piece you see here is a very old runner full of holes and serious stains, but with its wonderful lace edge fully intact. It will look spectacular peeking out of a display, or the edge of a shelf the way it is.
Sometimes I need just a snippet of something for a task where I would rather not risk my nicer linens. And you handy crafters out there know what good use you can put a little lace trim to!
October is out of the gates in a big way for us. It's Hot Air Balloon Fiesta time in Albuquerque too, and that always brings plenty of enthusiastic guests to the Land of Enchantment. We're getting ready for a house full!
Well Happy Monday!
I hope it will be a good week for you.

Enjoy the balloon festival. I went up in a balloon once. It was arranged by a friend in Australia whose brother was a world champion balloonist. No. I'm not sure how you get to be one. Anyway, it was scary but fascinating. Not sure I'd be able to do it now as I developed quite bad vertigo about 3 years ago.
Think I'll stick to admiring embroidered initials. Lovely.
Old bottles and clock faces...on my favorites list, too! Beautiful eye candy, Jacqueline!
I love the old bottles with the linens. I am a linen collector and I also sell linens, I'm always so thrilled to visit your blog and see how you cherish and care for your linens. I am so very happy each time I meet someone that loves these timeless treasures as much as I do.
Take care,
Jacqueline, you find the most scrumptious lace edged goodies. Each one is lovely and I yearn to hear the story behind each one, like who spent all those hours tatting, crocheting, and piecing things together. My dear Granny used to crochet and make quilts so I always wonder about such things. I feel the same way about vintage china and silver. They are all precious. Having these beautiful things in our home is like having a piece of history with us. Thanks for sharing and have a delightful week.
Blessings,
Sandi
Rhubarb extract? Who knew! I think your brown bottles are fabulous! I'm finally getting my fall groove going. The wreath workshop I posted today put me over the edge! Now we're digging deep!
Glad to see your week is off to a sweet start! LOve those B's, and other goodness... the magic soak is your trademark!
The Rhubarb extract is very cool too!
Hugs,
Bella
Such pretty linens Jacqueline. I have some inherited ones... some with stains. Unsure of how to get the stains out safely. Some of them are about 70yrs old.
Hmmm... rhubarb extract. :) Ok, why not ?!
Happy new week!!!
I will take your word for it on the balloon rides. GULP!! Enjoy.
I will never tire of seeing your linens and linen finds. Each one is different...the stitching or the lace even the stains give them their uniqueness. Have a wonderful week watching the Hot Air Balloons. They always fascinate me. When my late Grandmother turned 80 she went in a hot air balloon. She loved it.
Beautiful linens Jacqueline. Charming details and crocheted edging. Love the clock faces and the vintage bottles. I'm highly allergic to rhubarb so I would have to pass on that one. LOL Enjoy the Balloon Fiesta and your full house of quests.
Have a beautiful week. cm
I didn't know (or remember) that you were into brown bottles, too. I have quite a few, but only about 4 with labels. Rhubarb? Who would have thought? Sally
Beautiful pics as always and I love those old vintage extract bottles. Fabulous.
Kris
Your linens are always drool worthy! I shopped Round Top Antique venues last week and found a set of four w/ an S monogram to give to a friend for her birthday this month. For some reason the letter S was not abundant. This was the only set with an S that I found.
Will think of you if I find a brown bottle. '-)
The extract bottles remind me so much of the times the Watkins guy would come to our house when I was a little girl. He sold all kinds of intriguing extracts. Love the clock faces too.
The bottles are interesting! Never heard of those contents before!
