Welcome to March! It's really just one day later, and maybe it looks the same today as yesterday, but a simple flip of the calendar can make all the difference. Suddenly it seems like there is so much to do. Digging the garden, spring cleaning, maybe even shoveling snow. Whatever! It's time to march on!
Everything is still pretty brown in our neighborhood. We have a local farmer who has turned his field. That always seems like some sort of signal. And it never fails to remind me of Edith Holden's drawing of March.
A few days ago I was driving through the local fields when a huge flock of crows began flitting through the trees like this. They looked like swirling black confetti had been dropped from the sky.
We have a beautiful warm week forecast ahead. I can't wait for the first blossoms of spring which, coming first, always appear as a great trumpet call announcing the season. Our month of March has arrived as gentle as a lamb.
Spring is really on its way! It won't be long now!
Hope you have a great weekend ahead!
Jacqueline

Dear Jacqueline,
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I love the two books you featured and the way you photographed them. Beautiful dishes. How feminine they are and look at that pleasing shape.
Here's to your gentle lamb days...

Beautiful photos and vignettes Jacqueline. I love the illustration of Edith Holden's. We had a snow storm yesterday and haven't begun to clean out yet. I so enjoy seeing lovely spring photos on blogs. Enjoy your nice weather this weekend! Pamela

You are so right girl! It does feel different! :) Lovely photos, thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Such pretty photos bring the hope of spring. We often have colder temperatures in March than in February. Hope that's not the case this year.

Yes! longing for spring here too. The daffodils are fully up and open now. The newly plowed field must smell wonderful like fresh dirt and most certainly would seem like a harbinger of spring...

So pretty, Jacqueline...I do find myself looking to spring now, too...even though we'll be having a snowstorm the next three days!
ReplyDeleteAh Easter is on the horizon! Yes, it is just the name "March" that wakes us all up. I guess it is about "marching on" - I had never thought of that! I love the sight of the eggs and blossoms on your post, beautiful as usual. .
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful mosaic...Happy March!
ReplyDeleteI've missed so much-being sick. I get your beautiful inspiration all at once and I love it.
ReplyDeleteLovely images, cheering thoughts, and such a promise of spring in each of your photos. (Especially the collage!) Only 2 more weeks until she's here. I only hope the weather uses the same calendar I'm using!
