If the new year turned over a leaf on the calendar, and there was no white, would it still be January? I'm sure not everyone thinks of white this time of year, but for some of us, our thoughts are never very away from it any time. . . .
Maybe if we see enough pictures of white linen, we won't have to spend money on the sales. But that usually works exactly the other way around, doesn't it?!
Here is a little pile fresh from laundering and ironing after the holidays. I knew you would probably want to see it. Happily the wine stains came out once more after an Oxyclean soak.
If anything makes you feel as much like a fresh start as the new year this is it!
A little ironing always sets me right again! I was feeling a little pressed and flat myself after nursing a cold the last few days of the holidays. Today I'm helping a young friend put together some table ideas for her upcoming wedding. What better way to start the new year?
Hope you're feeling like fresh and new too!
Jacqueline

Love the whites. My sofa is also covered in a chenille spread in order to protect it form the puppy. It is still pretty however. Happy New Year, Olive
ReplyDeleteWe're on the same page - thinking about whites. I didn't have the nice pictures to show, however. Beautiful post, as always.

ReplyDeleteI am always in the mood for whites
I have one of my Grandmother's crocheted tablecloths soaking in oxiclean now, looks like a coffee stain I remembered when she made the tablecloth, thinking I made the stain
Happy new Year and look forward to reading your blog this new year
The whites are so lovely. Has such a crisp clean feel to them. You must have quite a collection of linens and such.
ReplyDeleteI find all the whites very refreshing and inspiring to look at. I really must try to bring more into my own home this year.
ReplyDeleteHi J,
ReplyDeleteFresh and white, a gloriously pure start to the New Year!! I bought a white comforter for my bed to burrow in, it makes the gray days bearable:-) And WOWY, have I really never seen that pinwheel crochet on the back of your sofa, unbelievable piece!!
Hugs,
Bella
If i had a wedding coming and a table to be set, i'd probably ask if i could fly you to my house to do it! What is it about fresh white linen that is so good!? Love the photos as usual, and that chair draped in cotton and lace is another inspiration for me. I have a new sofa that needs slipcovers, so until then, i'm gonna have to find a combo of blankets and lace and make my sofa look just like your chair!
