What is the mystery that makes one long for a time and place that we've never known? The yearning that keeps us reaching for images and objects of nostalgia? It is a question for philosophers. But its answer may come nearer on a relaxed and joyful Sunday morning than any place else.
Here are a few links from the week that give me that Sunday Morning In June feeling. I hope you enjoy them if you haven't discovered them already.
Ciao for now!

ReplyDeleteJust absolutely beautiful, and perfect for this lovely June morning. Thank you for sharing with me. Country hugs and much love, Sherry
I love these images. My longing for things of the past seems to increase the older I get! It's just good old nostalgia kicking in and longing for simpler days and lifestyle. Have a great week! Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous! And yes, why is it that we are nostalgic for times we've never known ourselves? It is imagined history - where we assume (or pretend) that life was kinder 'then'. This might or might not be true. Nothing wrong with a touch of nostalgia, as long as we don't forsake our commitments to life as we know it. Perhaps a touch of nostalgia can help us crystallize the ideals we would like to implement here. A kinder, slower, gentler life. Then it's not just about the pretties.
ReplyDeleteBut the pretties are a good start!
Here you go, I got philosophical after all. Sorry 'bout that ;)
