It's time to get back to business. But that doesn't mean you can't do it in style. Great looking desk accessories are one of my weaknesses. Case in point--this mouse pad/calendar/note pad from Anthropologie.
Perky desk stuff helps get you to the task at hand. Even if the task is only paying a few bills.
This little notebook was made by my daughter in law, a book conservationist.
A few creature comforts make me feel less sorry for myself when I have to dig into things like taxes.
My desk blotter was a gift from a few seasons past.
I like to use vintage boxes amd containers to tuck stuff away. The chalk bin drawer with knobs is perfect for 3x5 cards. It sits on an ancient leather box with metal corners.
My daily desk calendar is a souvenir from Portobello Road.
Tiny hand painted china cups corral stamps or clips.
The essential letter opener, and antique deer horn magnifyer.
Hope you're having a beautiful start to the new year!
Ciao! for now!

Oh this grouping reminds me of the bathroom post. So stylish and travel themed. I absolutely love the travel theme and the masculine touches. Beautiful goodies again! Hope you are having a wonderful New Year!

I really like this post because you are showing us that even though there are things we have to do that we don't enjoy, we can make them more tolerable by surrounding ourselves with pretty, beautiful or things that speak to us. Perhaps I will have to invest in some pretty and interesting house cleaning implements. (Are there such things?) I could sure use some encouragement when I'm scrubbing the bathroom out. :) I would love to see more posts like this one. How can we take the ugly and mundane out of chores we dislike? Have you got any tips for housework? :)

I see you have tea leaf dishes :)
They are the reason I want a hutch.
This is such a beautiful post. Your photography is art!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you had found the photos on the internet, then I realized they're yours. You have shown that we can work in style, paying our bills, taxes and writing thank you notes, etc. ~Delores
That mouse pad sure floats my boat! You're right. If you have pretties like that waiting for you, you're sure to get more done.
