White Christmas Cupboard

The recent snow just put me over the top for the holiday spirit around here, but there really is only one way to guarantee a White Christmas in this neck of the woods, and that's to take matters into your own hands! I've been enjoying tweaking and adding white and sparkly things to this corner of the sitting room, and to the shelves of my old painted cupboard.

I like the look of gathered objects together. They have more interest for me displayed that way. I'm sure I will be adding even more as the season goes on.

I definitely wanted some whimsey here, and a space for packages to pile up. There's even room on the cupboard doors to post greeting cards.

Cut paper snowflakes will go on the window panes. I've never had a dedicated Christmas corner in the house, and I'm loving it! I thought you might like to have a peek. . . .

A little flannel Victorian child's jacket waiting for buttons seems cozy here.

It's time to dress up the bears!

My new napkin rings from Pom Pom ready for party time!

Old bank file boxes from my summer Utah trip with a pretty little rumpled doily on top.

I wonder what I should hang from the old newel post. . . .

Definitely room for more doggies.

To tinsel or not to tinsel. . . . That is the question!

Love old shabby Shiny Brites!

Thank you for all the wonderful comments about our New Mexico snowfall! It really dressed up our winter brown town for a moment.

But now it's back to decking the halls. Busy week!
I hope yours is cozy and wonderful.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Jacqueline

Your Christmas corner is delightful, a white wonderland of yumminess! The first thing I saw were those napkin rings and I was glad to get a close up. The tree and the mirror, sigh... Flannel coats for babies, newel posts and bank boxes, you do find the most wonderful things! I may have to start following you around, ha! Lovin your little doggies too, so well behaved!

  9. It looks so pretty. I always love the way white decorating looks but I would miss color in my house too much to decorate that way myself.

  12. Your decorating just warms my heart. This morning while trying to string some lights on my mantel between the greens and white owls and a lovely little white Nativity ornament, my favorite ceramic owl and the Navitiy went crashing to the tile hearth...My heart broke and I shed a few tears. But seeing your pictures made me feel a LITTLE beeter. :-)

  14. So lovely Jacqueline! Calm and peaceful looking. I tend to change my styles. One year I like the Victorian look, and another the traditional greens and reds. This year I am liking the vintage of the 60's. Maybe next year I will do the white. blessings to you.

  15. Your Christmas corner is wonderful -- white Christmas to be sure! I do live the shiny brites. I'm thinking of taking mine off the tree this year and putting them in a special bowl -- they all have their stories with them!

  26. This is so pretty. I love all the white stuff put together this way. I would love to have more white in my house but I think I'll need to wait until my kids are older. :) We had more snow up here this morning! It snowed hard for about an hour and we got a nice, new dusting on the ground.

  39. Oh, Jacqueline! I adore all your white lovelies! You have that special nostalgic touch that gets to me every time and takes me away...I am thinking I just may paint one of my cupboards white and have been pondering it for some time. I think in the New Year, I will jump off and do it, finally! Yours is heavenly. I am on my lunch break at work and am catching up on your blog posts! XO
