English Teacups & Vintage German Ornaments

I went out looking for vintage ornaments today. I found the Shiny Brites in pastels that I wanted, but also found some vintage German ones with glitter that exceeded my expectations.

The double handled Royal Stafford English porcelain cups and saucers were also at the thrift store at an unthrifty price. I guess they know some fool like me is going to take them anyway! I've been alerted that they are actually consomme cups! Parfait!

I had to show you these boxes from Anthropologie too. I asked if they had gift wrapping the last time I was there. They don't. But they offered the boxes. I only intended to wrap one gift, but when I saw how sturdy and gorgeous they were I took one for each item. They are the smartest boxes you have ever seen. One single piece that folds up in a very clever way. Have I just been living in a closet, and ya'll know this already?

The ornaments lie on top of a three dollar vintage towel, and a thrifty pale pink linen tablecloth from the same place. I guess it all evens out. I have two boxes of the pale pink and grey balls at a steal.

Not too bad for sneaking out midweek!
But we gotta get it done, eh?
Hope you're having a terrific week too!
Ciao! for now!

Jacqueline

Beautiful finds. My English friends best dinner set is like your new find and the two handled dishes are actually soup bowls. I think you could use them for whatever you wanted to though. Lovely baubles too, vintgage ones are so hard to come by these days too xx

I love Shiny Brites. I have some from my grandmother and always look for them but everything is so expensive down here ... guess that's because there are a million (!!!!!) other folks looking, too! ; D ;D ;D Love the double handled cups ... tea or soup or both? Doesn't matter ... love both!

What gorgeous teacups and ornaments! I was told once the double handled cups were for hot chocolate. Not sure if that is true, but I love the one I own.

Yep...the 2 handles cups are consomme or cream soup bowls...but hey! If they are gorgeous buy 'em and if you want to...use'em! I have a friend who does. They are usually priced better than the teacups as dish sets are out of style at the moment and folks don't know what they are.
What a great day of shopping you had!

Love your new header and the vintage ornaments! Very pretty! We don't have a major town within 3 hours of here so I haven't ever seen that store or many others like Pottery Barn. Deprived I know! Thanks for joining me at Home Sweet Home!

The little soup bowls are so delicate and pretty. So are they ornaments. I last got vintage ornaments at a yard sale for ten cents, some broken but no matter.
