Around the Shop

I love taking photos of great shops wherever I travel, and have a mental list of places that I would love to get to if only they weren't a thousand miles or more away!

But I haven't been tracking down any fab vintage shops lately. My own busy Cabin & Cottage shop space at Je L'Adore! in Albuquerque  is at least part of the reason.  So I may as well show you the latest shop shifting in my own little corner of the vintage world.

Ironstone pitchers, wicker, and lace are some of my mainstays. But wire baskets and garden fences get space too.

I'm always on the hunt for painted pieces. I wish I had the talent and interest in painting things myself. Such a smart thing to do! One of my latest favorites is Marion's Miss Mustard Seed blog. What a furniture genius that woman is! We carry her paint line in the shop too.

Vintage lighting has more character!

But linens are my number one weakness. Surprise!

Time to stock up on the vintage garden stuff. Love old remnants from iron gates. And who doesn't need a nice garden goose!

I am a vintage frame junky too. Endless possibilities.

One of my shop ladies has a new hat.

That great old washtub underneath has wooden handles!

A few pieces of pretty china on the shelf.

Can't have cottage without it.

(This Italian beauty may be slated for my dining room.)

I hope you enjoyed the look around!

Happy Weekend!

Jacqueline

  5. I definitely could do damage to my pocket book here. Love the squatty pitcher in the second picture with the grazing. And the lacy top under the hat is quite wonderful too. Oh my I do love it all.

  6. As you know I always, always drool over your shop. Your displays, your merchandise, your presentation....it's all amazingly beautiful. I would love to one day visit and take home some major pretties.

  7. Hello Jacqueline...I had to catch up on some posts. The Valentine cookies were "sweet" as can be, and such a pretty post.
Loved the Prairie Style post, as well.
Your shop is filled with items that I would be tempted to bring home. Especially all the lovely linens! You have such a talent for display. All of the vignettes are gorgeous!
    Have a happy weekend.

  9. How I would love to step into your shop -- and should I be so fortunate to make it one day, I'll do it near closing time so after we can have a glass of wine or cuppa tea!

Seeing the vintage lamps reminds me that I have one or two of those in the garage at the cottage. They are dirty beyond -- well, dirt beyond dirt -- but maybe one of this summer's projects will be to clean them up and get some new shades. I could see those in my guest room at home! Definitely NOT cottage style at my more rustic woodsy (versus "pretty" cottage!)

  10. I am tempted to jump in the car right now and head southwest. (You and I could be twins from other mothers. Our taste is so alike.) Even though I love road trips, I have to admit my preference is road tripping east. (Plus it is only 1,000 miles there and 2,000 to where you are.) But my youngest daughter lives in Scottsdale AZ so I am determined to rent or borrow a family car and drive to ALB so I can visit your booth. Your blog is my #1 favorite, Miss Mustard Seed is #2.
