When you first saw this bouquet of roses in an earlier post it was fresh and fragrant. The blooms failed to fully open, as is sometimes the case, but instead of tossing them when they drooped I bunched them up at the top before they were fully dry and tied a ribbon of lace around them. They make a nice topiary in my cast iron urn. I'm sorry to report that this is about as close to "crafting" as I have come for awhile!
But the new arrangement gave me an idea for a vignette to show you the cherub figures I was thrilled to find a few days ago. A pair!!! Oh, I love it when that happens!
The cast iron putti appear to be candle sticks, but the tiny holes on top make me think they may have been part of something else. Not a lamp, as the holes are only in the candle cup, and don't go through. Any ideas?
I found the glass dome that covers my lady clock the same day. It has a wooden base that will require sanding and painting, and that will probably be next year's craft! Ha!
Aren't the wings adorable?
Thanks for coming by to see my little beauties!
Ciao! for now!

I'm not usually drawn to cherubs, but your pictures make me wish I had found them first. Might they have been part of an epergne? (Not sure the material is right, but just a thought.)
ReplyDeleteYour vignette is divine and the cherubs... HEAVENLY!
