A Rare Day in October

It's a truly rare day in Albuquerque where it's dark at noon. And whatever it is I have planned for the day, all I want to do is roost, and nest, and tuck my head under my wing for awhile.

There's a silent and delicious drizzle outside. Not even cold. Just hushed, and slow, and a gentle invitation to laze about. To put your best sleepy kitten act on.

And though it isn't yet the middle of the week, it's a perfect day for hot tea with the pretty teacups to go with the pretty new magazines.  For dainty bites from dainty dishes, and a candle or two. For studying light and shadow. Seeing things up close. For appreciating all good things, while the world waits beyond the window panes. . . .

Are you due for a rare October day?
Hope it's good!
Ciao! for now!

  6. It's a not so rare day here with light rain and drizzle and very cool. Your photos are so beautiful. I love the one with the candle burning. The glow is so comforting. We're hoping for sunshine soon as it's our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend coming up and the trees are starting to colour up nicely. Best viewed on a sunny car drive. Hugs, Pamela

  8. With the comment form you use, I have to change from Firefox to Safari to be able to comment. Where would I go to "De-select"?
Your post is beautiful. I LOVE Albuquerque. I am using my last Piñon incense stick. I use it to remind me of the good times in the Southwest. I love to walk out on a Autumn morning and smell it floating on the air.
I've followed you on Google Reader for a long time, but only Followed you on your blog today.

  26. Hi, there is nothing better than a little white to brighten a dreary day. I love your precious linens and lace. Lovely photos. Hope the sun shines for your soon. I don't know about you, but I love a gray day now and then, but I need my sunshine!

  27. I know the feeling...when it is dark and dreary outside, I like to curl up with a good book or magazine. Too bad there isn't enough time duringthe week for me to do this....wishful thinking:-)

  29. I am enjoying a beautiful fall day here in New England...bright sunshine, brisk air and the hint of rich colors dotting the tips of the leaves. After many days of drizzle it makes the day that much brighter!

Loving your photos and am pinning a few for keeps!
