French Blue

I have visited France a few times. Enough to know I could never have my fill of the lace-filled blue-shuttered windows and doors shown on the cover of  The Heart of France, a book Victoria magazine first promoted in the October issue  of 2000.

I've never gone on a shopping trip per se. I'm a light traveler, and begrudge carrying anything harder to pack than linens. Therefore I count anything else from France in my household collections as a cherished souvenir.

Including my French Decorating books of which I have a few.  This one is among my favorites. Leafing through its pages lets me stroll through my day recalling walks I took through beautiful village squares and avenues. Here's my vignette ode to French Blue!

Wishing you a bit of Victoria beauty in YOUR day!
Thanks for stopping by! Au Revoir, and Ciao! for now!

  17. I can understand your cherishing all these goodies. Anything from France is costly. I was there once, and too high class. You have a very nice assortment from there.

  22. Hello Jacqueline! When I grow up I want to be you! I'd love to visit France - I believe I have walked some of those streets in my dreams. I love that book and others that celebrate the beauty of France - that shade of blue in the plate is wonderful. I believe I find shards in my yard with that shade and pattern - just love everything!
I always appreciate your posts and you joining me at A Return to Loveliness,
    God Bless,

  28. That is one of my favorite decorating books.

I am browsing your blog looking for ideas for white linen pillows. I am making pillows for my garden bench. I made a blue and white cushion and I want some lovely white pillows. Just looking at your blog gave me a couple of ideas.
