I wasn't sure we would get to stop here this time going through L.A., so I didn't get my hopes up. I felt a visit was optional. L.A. traffic is just crazy!
But once you step through the doors, you forget all that. In fact, I practically forget to breathe. . .
Just a stroll through the rooms and my head fills with inadequate superlatives.
Surging inspiration. . . . A shop like no other. . . . But always with some little down to earth touches like the vintage glassware that I already own some of. Only mine never looks quite this good. . . .
I think that I may have lost consciousness for a moment somewhere about here. . .
What more is there to say?
If you ever get a chance to float through. . . . Do. . . .
Jacqueline

It has been a long time since I floated through her shop.
ReplyDeleteOh, the pink cabinet and the mint green comforter.
Wow, everything is gorgeous! I've never been in one of her shops but I think the prices may cause me to faint!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a dream store....I think I would want to bring home everything!
ReplyDeleteFeeling a little lightheaded myself after looking at all this beauty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful float through!!! Am lusting for the pink cupboard!!!
ReplyDeleteOH my...so much eye candy...that pink cabinet is STUNNING. Thanks for sharing all the goodies, Jacqueline!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful you get to go there in person and see and touch all her wonderful items
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing pictures with us who can't go there in person
ReplyDelete*GULP*
Curious as to how much the glassware was. I saw that pattern in Goodwill just the other day for .49 cents each. Didn't buy them though. Up here they're a tough sell. Fun store...thanks for the pics!
ReplyDeleteAfter gulping and swooning I decided to check the shop out online - and that first floral pillow is $328.00?????????
ReplyDeleteHrm.
I wonder why. Surely people aren't spending that one one pillow? How could they possibly justify that?
Just wondering why the prices are so exorbitant, makes no sense to me whatsoever. Not to dismiss how LOVELY and DREAM WORTHY everything is, but a shope like that has high overhead, yes, but a $328 pillow? There must be buyers, and I shudder when considering what that actually means deep down.
Anyway, loved it, J - thanks for the eye candy heavenliness.
Dear Michele: Yes the prices are up there in the ether. We think of dear R.A. as one of us, but she is a sought after, world class designer with prices to match.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shop to visit. Saw some glassware and votive holders that caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteThe most beautiful post about her shop that i have ever read...and the most beautiful post that i have read in a long time. I want a pair of her pj's so badly but online they never have my size. Thank you. For taking us into her beauty with you. Your words make it it even more dreamy than it already is. I will never part with my collection of Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Couture.
ReplyDeleteI know I have floated around some shops, it's always a good experience.
ReplyDeleteMerle...........
And mine is from Target and Mervyns. I wish Target had more of her collection like they used to. Sadly it has become very soarce around here
ReplyDeleteJacqueline, I really enjoyed visiting these two beautiful shops with you. So many pretty things and arrangements. Thanks for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeleteIt' all so clean and white. I'm sure any of those things (at least the pillows and slipcovers) would last about 30 minutes in my house! If I didn't spill tea on them, Lizzie Coco would surely leave a trail of black fur!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness gracious... how to even stand it! That pink chippy cupboard is just plain divine. And i know you were loving those linens...
ReplyDeleteI haven't been here in so long... cant wait to catch up and see some of your scrumptious photos!
Cindy
Oh, lucky you! I love her sweetly simple style. One of these days I am going to paint everything white.... until then I can soak it all in. I just bought her new book, 'Couture Prairie' about her ranch in Texas that she turned into a bed and breakfast. It is so inspiring. I think I would have chained myself to that pink cupboard until someone let me drag it home....xo Karen
ReplyDeleteMy - you have been on a continual shopping spree dream. Lucky you. I love the pink hutch, it's such a dreamy color.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Well I was going to bite the bullet and go up there but, if her prices are that high guess it's Good Will and SA for me.
ReplyDeleteShe does have stunning things though. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Mary
i went to her flagship store in NY last spring and could hardly breathe! beyond lovely. you must have been breathless? so much eye candy there, right?
ReplyDeleteYUMMY!!!! Loving that pink chippy cabinet!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Oh I would love floating through this shop. Love, love, love!
ReplyDeleteLovely shot of the pink cabinet and the shot looking into the room with the beautiful chandelier.
ReplyDeleteLucky Y*O*U...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Eye Candy!!!
Jeanine Burkhardt
Pretty, pretty, pretty!! She has a shop in Chicago and I have to visit someday. I've heard she is incorporating more color, did you see that? Her daughter Lily has a wonderful website, you should visit it if you haven't.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Lucky you! Yum, Yum, Yum... that pink cabinet, so delicious! You had a good trip!
ReplyDeletehugs...
oh, my, LOVE the chippy pink cabinet so much, jacqueline!! i've never gone to one of her stores--tfs:)
ReplyDeleteJacqueline I would love to float through this shop. Everything is dreamy. I love the chippy cabinet in pink. My hubby and I are going to spend 3 days at her Texas cottages in the Cornflower Cottage in Dec. She has a shop on the property too and I hope it will be open then. The place is booked solid and every cottage pictured in RA's new book is reserved. I was thrilled we were able to get a booking at all.
ReplyDeleteI will take lots of pics to share in a post.
Love her new book sharing the love she has for Texas.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs
Your photography is fabulous. I don't know how you could remember to take photos when there is all that beauty around, but I'm so glad you did. I still think you should publish a coffee table book of your photos.
ReplyDelete*Smiles*
I'll take the pink cupboard, please, oh and just one or two things to put in it. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteSo much to sigh over. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJacqueline,
ReplyDeleteSo~o~o glad you were ableto make the stop to visit this amazing shop!!!
I adore the merchandising throughout!!! I use to display the quilts similar to those pillows in the Antique Shop where I previously worked. My employer told me that several patrons had asked if I would come arrange their linen closets! ;)
Thanks for sharing with us!!!
Fondly,
Pat
I am so jealous.....
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous is Rachel's shop. She use to have one years ago in Chicago and I loved to stroll through it. Rachel's displays are always so beautiful. Oh I am so jealous what a great place to go.
ReplyDeleteKris
That pink cabinet was sublime. You know One Kings Lane had her things for sale this week.
ReplyDeleteOh my.... totally green with envy. Each photo was more delicious than the last and I didn't want them to end. You must have been in heaven wandering around her beautiful store Jacqueline. I'm featuring this post at Shabbilicious Friday tomorrow so everyone else can enjoy them too.
