We have left the traffic and the noise and the jumbo jet world to come home to our quiet little house for an interlude.
But we have brought home the Seattle sky.
It's still a comfort to return to rooms with things left just as you placed them as though waiting for your return.
Fling open the damper, strike a match, and the rooms spring to life.
The filtered light has been a welcome visitor this season.
Casting all familiar in ethereal glow.
A ticking clock and popping logs the only background music. . . .
There was a copy of The New Eighteenth Century Home waiting on the doorstep. Now what better welcome could I ask for?
Hope you're getting time out too!
Ciao! for now!
Jacqueline

Oh that looks so cozy! And serene.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cozy and so perfect. I love the little twinkle lights and what is better than a fire in the fireplace. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAnd guess what! Seattle is sunny today! It's a glorious and crisp day...a small shiny window in our usual greyness. But I know what you mean about coming home. There is no place like home!

ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful--both cosy and serene.
ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty...I went to the shop early today but now I'm staying put...making soup for a sick friend, cleaning the house and relaxing a bit!
