Milder summer evenings make for perfect patio dining. It seems like we took better advantage of this last year at this time when we had more small gatherings. But I always love simple and intimate settings like this patio buffet from last summer.
Large vintage platters are perfect as individual serving plates, and are able to accommodate a dish like grilled chicken and all the side offerings with ease.
An garden stand makes a good serving station.
This is a quick and easy set up too!
Table number two is more formal and romantic
Salad plates are from Anthropologie and dinner plates are vintage Wedgewood. Vintage napkins and flatware complete the setting.
Vintage transferware bone dishes enhance the theme.
A vintage tureen makes a statement at the center.
Vintage pressed glass tumblers with silver rims hold tea lights. After dinner coffee or tea service is already set up with china with the same pale pink hues.
The stylized dolfins on the sugar and creamer remind me of the details on old maps.
An undyed linen table cloth with lacy details adds to the romance.
Starring in this presentation are Johnson Bros Bird of Paradise pattern dinner plates.
An elaborate vintage cutwork tablecloth with lovely details of its own makes the occasion feel special.
The basket motif in the corners of the linen cloth echo that of the china plates.
I hope you get plenty of patio dining as the summer winds down!
Ciao! for now!

Hello J,
ReplyDeleteI loved the look back! It's a great reminder to enjoy summer while you can, use it or lose it:-)) I know I haven't enjoyed it near enough:-)
Love the bird of paradise on the front and the back of those Johnson Bros plates, ain't a beautiful back mark like a secret treasure :-)
Hope your summer is treating you well:-)
Hugs,

Jacqueline, thanks for a look back at these lovely alfresco settings. I wish evenings here were cool enough to dine on the terrace. Hopefully this fall again. LOL
ReplyDeleteThose salads from Anthropologie are sweet. I didn't see them in our local store. But the winner for me is the hunt scene pitcher. That is one fabulous piece!
Thanks for sharing. ~ Sarah
Gorgeous WHITES! Love those Johnson Bros plates. The vintage tablecloth is so elegant! Thanks for sharing this dreamy and summery setting.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you on my blog:)
Jacqueline.. I am totally swooning over your tables. That last one has a gorgeous tablecloth as a backdrop.. Loved the pitcher too. what a stunning piece.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have a wonderful eye for detail and composition. Hopefully when it gets a wee bit cooler, we will make another trip to NM.. and then I'll be looking you up. I told my friend Jeanie who just moved to ABQ about you and her last trip back here she made me giddy with excitement about all the fineries in your store! xo marlis
All of the table settings are so gorgeous. I love how you mix your vintage pieces with new items. It's too hot here to dine outside, but it will be cool again soon. I'm ready.
ReplyDeleteWe are in love with your table settings. Oh we only wish we could be a guest to enjoy the well thought out vintage atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the gorgeous post!
XO,
Renee and Angela
Wow! Each table is so beautiful and unique in it's own way. I LOVE table two and need to check and see if Anthro still has those salad plates. They are amazing. Table three has such tender touches. Just beautiful.
