I've propped open the cupboard doors to let the festive season in. That alone makes a big difference in the sitting room. A new little tree and some twinkle lights and it's Christmas!
I tuck little touches into this corner all month long.
A small tree fits in anywhere, and can be dressed up or down. But we are off to a good start.
A bit of ribbon and tucking in the nursery greens yet to come. I was lucky to get a few tree branches for about five dollars. Just a small bunch at the grocery can cost more than that!
Plenty of room for packages to pile up here, and for smaller touches added later. I love how the weeks sort of "grow" toward December 25th.
Bringing out the French jugs. . .
A lovely small gown hung as a nod to the wee ones and the magic of Christmas.
The old and the new mixed together.
A little BEFORE. . . .
And after!
I hope you're having as much fun as I am!
A happy new week to you!
Jacqueline

It all looks wonderful. Wish I wasn't such a Scrooge. I used to decorate for weeks and no longer want to. Would I if someone were to decorate for me? I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how adding a pot full of greenery with twinkly lights , and afrew splashes of red makes us feel Christmasy. your room looks lovely..

ReplyDeleteJacqueline I am just catching up on your blog posts and everything is as lovely as always. Your small tree is so sweet. I am leaving our white trees bare this year, just twinkle lights. I like to bring nature indoors so that our home feels like Winter. It is how I enjoy the season. I just picked lemons from our tree so that I can begin baking Christmas lemon tea cookies.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to visit my blog and leave a comment. Your kind words brought tears to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteYour home is always a peaceful place of repose for me. Your gentle living in the soft palette of creamy whites calms me. I appreciate the beauty you give. Peaceful tidings to you and your family gatherings. xo

For some reason your photos put me in mind of an old country farmhouse, maybe even my grandpa's in Missouri. Lovely and comforting.
ReplyDeleteIt looks just... Perfect, Jacqueline! It somehow reminds me of these magical illustrations of cherished children's Christmas books. Wishing you and yours all the joy of the season!
ReplyDeleteOh Jacqueline, your wonderment brings the xhild out in all who visits...my eyes wide open when I scrolled down to each beautiful photo,
ReplyDeleteThe winter gloves placed just so, the infant gown hanging so child like, presents wrapped in white and red bows, and your table top tree not only my theme but yours and perfectly placed and simply lit with a beautiful glow. Could it get any more beautiful in your home? ...... I think not, It's a magical place to be here sharing with you a all your family that will gather and share in the lasting memories that you will have created for them this joyous season.
Un Joyeux Noël
