Whimsical Linens & Lace

Easter always finds me on the whimsical side of cottage style. It's all bunnies and bears to me. But I also can't go long without sharing a few of my favorite linen collections. Nothing here is for sale. I always seem to get a few inquiries after I show things. I just hope you can enjoy them a little with me!

Today Stanny is wearing a little vintage ruffled number while nestled amid some lacy things.

This little scottie would make a sweet pillow to bring in some springtime cheer, don't you think?.

A swath of vintage printed cloth brings in a bit of pastel color for the season with its soft floral pattern.

Tricia Foley's books are a constant inspiration to me.

A friend gifted me these narrow eyelet trims that I use along my china shelves.

What you see here is the lace edge detail of a beautiful mantel cloth runner. Oh what patience it took to make a lovely design like this!

It always gives me a lift to have a bit of beautiful handwork around to grace my day. Pretty linens are a bit like flowers that way. . . .

I hope this brings a little whimsy to your weekend too!

And I hope things thaw out soon for you. Beautiful spring weather here. . . .

Jacqueline

  7. Oh my what lovely things. The linens are so beautiful and it's sad they are no longer made that way. I just can't resist buying them whenever I can. The little Scottie Dog piece is so sweet and that little bear looks perfect with your vintage linens.

  8. How pretty! I got rid of most of my linens and lace because a houseful of boys just made them impractical. I always found them on the floor. But I still can enjoy yours. I have that book by Tricia Foley it is beautiful. Have you ever read her tea book?

  17. The scottie piece is called a antimacassar. They are made to go on the back of the sofa or chair as decoration.

  22. Vintage handwork like your crocheted pieces always make me think about whoever made them ... and I feel sad for the families that no longer have these reminders. It is comforting to know that things like this are loved by you, and by me and others, and they carry on their story in their new families.

  24. So many beautiful linens and things! Makes me miss my grandmother. She crocheted many many doilies and coverlets in her lifetime. Love the way you have displayed them to share with us. I'm your newest follower.
