My days are turning into a summer collage. A constant stream of snapshot moments of which I have taken few actual photos.
I'll share with you, instead, a substitution of happy images. The ruffled cottons of long hot days and cricket nights. The simple and shiny essentials of a shared table. The color of light's reflection at mid-year. . . . A few of my favorite things. . . .
I am also showing two new ironstone bowls for my collection that I found on my travels!
One of them is a smaller footed bowl of which I had none, and the other is a nice big serving bowl.
They are now making themselves at home on the dining room table with a few other friendly pieces.
(I'm also feeling very clap-board farmhouse with a wrap around porch--ah, me...)
"Early in the morning, when the birds begin, the light is an infusion of gold through my curtains. All the new insistent green of the world, and the glowing color from a thousand blossoms are in it, and the smell is so heavenly sweet it aches in the heart."
Gladys Taber, The Book of Stillmeadow, July
Here's to happy days,
and sweet midsummer night dreams. . . .

Love the quote and what I see in each and every photo. White ironstone, oh sigh! White linens, pitter patter my heart goes.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing all your summer pretties - those roses are exquisite! A beautiful summer to you! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a while, and I love everything about it. I assumed we would be kindred spirits, but now I know we are. I was so happy to see your quote from Gladys Taber! She is my favorite author, and I just returned from the Friends of Gladys Taber reunion in Connecticut where we were able to tour her home, Stillmeadow. One of the highlights of my life! :-) Your new ironstone pieces would look lovely in the window of her 1690 farmhouse. Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteJacqueline, just beautiful. You have inspired me so much with your white/cream palette; I am making some changes here because of your lovely influence. I find it so calming. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI´m enchanted!. Your photos are so amazing.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
Best wishes

ReplyDeleteWonderful Pictures from beautiful whites....and so romantic...greetings from Marjon
Jacqueline,
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful white stoneware that you have photographed so well. I love the bowls sitting atop the embroidered white cloths.
I saw on an earlier post a white cloth with a band of blue fleur de lis which I am coveting. I am off to investigate that little blue fleur de lis some more.

Lovely as always, Jacqueline. I've been sanding and painting the new workshop building we built last summer, so it is refreshing to pop in and soak up some of your beautiful summertime images.
