Local Color

We have been lucky enough to have three sunny days in a row on our Washington visit! Everyone talks about the weather and having to adjust to the bright light. The sound of mowing and blowing seems to come from everywhere. In our hometown we water and water and still may not save the plants, trees, and grass. Here, even the fields are constantly mowed down to keep nature from reclaiming it all.  There's a delightful profusion of local color.

We came across this cool recycled glass sculpture outside the water reclamation facility.

So nice for you to come along! Hope you're enjoying a beautiful Pink Saturday!

  2. We once visited the Pacific Northwest coast on a road trip, and distinctly remember it raining hard on the Washington side of the state line, and not at all on the Oregon side!

  3. Lovely colors and lovely photos, Jacqueline! I recently had a photoshoot for my photography class project " simple things talking in color " and was amazed to find bright, vibrant colors all around me ( even in a not so colorful city as Toronto). I guess, what we see depends mainly on what we look for ...
    Have a colorful summer!

  6. So many people I follow going to Washington, but me... I miss it, it's home of all homes. Thanks for this beautiful post, took me home for a little bit. And while it's baking hot here, in the South, I've been baking, come see it, please. :)

  8. Your photos are beautiful I like the glass sculptures, very clever. Washington climate is a lot like the coast of Holland where I live except for the mountains. I am praying for rain in parched New Mexico and Colorado. xo Jenny
