I think Father's Day is supposed to be all about leather and tools, but I don't see why it can't be a day for a pretty table too! My husband's favorite color is blue. And I've been really drawn to blue this summer. So blue it is!
I always believe I am going for simplicity. But by the time everything is arranged, my table often betrays the truth about my love for layers and details. Lately a sweet small bunch of different flowers has pleased me more than anything else. And Bella's Rose Cottage's garden blues have had a big influence on me.
The soup tureen is a family heirloom.
Vintage flatware.
There are almost always layers of linens on the table. I like to change things a lot and also have a bit of drape.
I hope you have a lovely time on Father's Day whatever you do!

ReplyDeleteHi J,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the garden love :-) It's gonna all be pink soon, so catch the blues before they are gone!
Like ALWAYS your table is beautiful, from the soft plaid tablecloth, to the amazing tureen! Your soft blue tablescapes always inspire me to love blue a little.
Love the long shot and seeing your hutch loaded in whites, yummy:-)

I've obviously been focused on blues of late too ~ French Blues and Bay House Blues. ;-) So this table is definitely making me smile. Beautiful flowers and dishes. I love the way you capture the special details in your images. Very artistic, as if these are exquisite oil paintings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Jacqueline!!
ReplyDeleteThose white flowers are special! They look like what we used to call football mums, but it seems too early for mums. Everything looks so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe stripes, soft blues, roses, and then just the right Father plate. Perfect All.
ReplyDeleteOh my word this is beautiful! I love the dusty hue of blue here. I am in love with your cupboards! Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!

So many beautiful pieces here, right down to the cutlery. That is probably the most gorgeous soup tureen I have ever laid eyes on. Oh, and there is my favorite cupboard. I can't ever get tired of seeing all your beautiful whites on that cupboard.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this post! Your tureen is a beautiful treasure. You set such a wonderful Father's Day table. What a restful mood that is going on with the blues and whites here!

ReplyDeleteI agree that your tureen is just about the prettiest ever!
I always enjoy my visit here!!!

With 4 small children, a fancy table is only a dream :) Your setting is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are exquisite! The little plates for butter pats caught my eye. I just picked up some at a rummage sale....I thought they were tea bag holders....thats what I'm planning to use mine for.. they are all darling.
ReplyDeleteBlue is such a calming color, everything looks beautiful. Laura
ReplyDeleteJacqueline,
ReplyDeleteVery tranquil and pastel purity tablescape!I adore the blue plaid tablecover mixed with the floral placemats. The layers of linen beneath are so soothing! Your husband is a fortunate man to have you design a table around his favorite hue! Hope his day is spent with those he loves around your table!
Fondly,
Pat
Layers of lovely...beautiful in blue!
ReplyDeleteKari

Your table is beautiful! I love the soup tureen. It is even better that it is a family heirloom.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Judy
I so love that muted blue, especially the heirloom tureen. The whole table setting is so pretty and my favourite colour too. Our Fathers Day is in September, and yet our Mothers Day is the same as yours. xx
ReplyDeleteA beautifully arranged table, I especially like the quilted mats and the flowers. Your dresser is lovely as well, I have severe dresser envy!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks very summery, I like the tabelcloth and place mats but most of all I love that little antique butter pat - it looks really nice on The Father saucer.
ReplyDeleteYou have linens and dishes for every occasion! The soup tureen is just gorgeous. And your furniture pieces too!
ReplyDeleteMy dear Jacqueline,
ReplyDeleteThis table spread for Father's Day is so very vivid and breathtakingly beautiful. The still life imagery of reflective surfaces, blue quilted placement mats and pink flowers petals scattering across the table...you pull me into a world, without any hemming and hawing, where I can never see the mystery coming to an end.
Best wishes, ASD
