Sugar Plum Fairy Table


The season has brought out a little of the Sugar Plum Fairy in me. But if you can't pull out all the stops for a fancy table this time of year when can you?





I sometimes get a little stage fright if I really have to pull some magic out of a hat for a special occasion, but entertaining a handful of close friends can be nothing but fun to set up. No special occasion required.




I have a few things that seem to never see the light of day. And the vintage French tablecloth I'm featuring here is one of them. There is nothing understated about it. Might as well pull out all the frothy stuff to go with it.




My grandmother used to put all her nice things away in a chest. And they never came out.




If we're not enjoying our fine things often, why have them?




































China is vintage Wedgewood Queensware. Flatware and linens are also vintage.

    Ohhh such a beautiful tablecloth and napkins, the setting is so pretty and romantic, and i love the pillows on your sofa in the background too. I'm so glad you are using your pretty things...

    i can hear the "dance of the sugarplum fairies" in my head
    and i envision these fairies in beautiful tutu's twirling around in delight to be invited to such a candlelight fete!!

    All I can say is those napkins should be mine...along with the silver ser and don't forget the silverware...ok I will take the cloth too...I think that will do it for me...love it all...stunning

    I love to see your beautiful linen. Everytime I come visit, I see more and more of it,and love love, love it all. I think I will go and put some lace on a table cloth I have which is similar cut embroidery. Thank you so much Jaqueline for the lovely ideas. xx j

    I know I have told you before, but once again...you have the most beautiful linens!
    This table is so beautifully elegant.
    I totally agree with you about putting things away instead of using them...if I don't enjoy them, no one will! I use all of my many dishes/silver/crystal/linens...if I don't it only because it got pushed to the back of the cupboard!
