Farmhouse Inspiration




Who doesn't hold a little Norman Rockwell picture of Christmas in their heart? 



The one with the cozy farmhouse kitchen, and Grandparents, and stories.



My fourth grade reader always had it covered with snow.



Whether you're traditional or modern as modems, country bred or a city slicker, something farmhouse fashioned always brings you home. . . .  

























































What would the season be without a little farmhouse flavor?

    Beautiful post and photos! The table looks so pretty with white and a touch of green and red. I love the tree in the old urn! Christmas often evokes thoughts of old farmhouses but it was never one of my experiences, unfortunately. Blessings. Pamela

    I love your story book collection. I read Winter's Gift to my children every year and they are 12-17 years old. It is such a great story.

    You are right about country being home no matter where you've come from. Great post.

    My friend, Christmas is looking lovely at your place! You really do have some beautiful creamy white dishes! I love the plate with the band of little green leaves and berries! Was wondering if you know the pattern and who makes it? I have been looking for something just like that for a Christmas place setting.     A Norman Rockwell Christmas is a nice image to imagine. Since I live in farm country I get to see many of the scenes one might see in the books except horse drawn sleighs - guess this is a thing of the past.

    The vintage kitty cards are so sweet! I like the red and white linen vignette's with the spoons tied up like that. Also love how you incorporated the shell's in as well.

    I just love this blog, so inspiring. I wish I could do my home in the whites and pale colours but its just not practical for me. I do so love it though. I find so many great ideas from looking at blogs, its all new to me a world I did not know existed. Then when I started my own and I started to read other peoples, well I am hooked now and your blog is a reason why.

    I just read your email, my friend! Thank you for taking the time to answer my question about the manufacturer of the china. I would have emailed you but already deleted your email address so thought I would leave you a note here. I did a little research and found out the name of the Grindley china pattern that you have pictured here. It's called "The Linkstone". I found a trio of handled soup bowls on ebay and then went and confirmed it with china replacements ltd. Just thought you would like to know the pattern name.     I love how you incorporate the sea into the Christmas red and holly greens. I'm from the Midwest and never imagined Christmas near the seaside. Now my family is lucky enough to go to the Gulf in Florida each year around Thanksgiving and are near the salt and shells. Seeing both in your holiday shops bring them both together for me.
