A Farewell to August ~ Linens & Lemonade


Part of the fun of entertaining is getting ready for it. If you like to cook, it's the cooking. If you like to shop, it's the shopping. If you like to decorate, it's the putting it all together that you like. If you enjoy all three, then you entertain a whole lot and everybody loves you!



Sometimes I find something that just makes me feel like having a party. Trader Joe's French Market Sparkling Lemonade did it for me. Don't you love all their genious bags and labels? My friend Mary brought her New York Trader Joe's bag over just to show me how much she loved it.



And usually all I need is one small inspiration to bring an idea together. The rest just gravitates around it. I knew I wanted lots of white, so I gathered up a white platter, some gorgeous white linens, and a lovely potted white orchid. We'll need a few more drinks, a bit of fruit and cheese, a crusty loaf, and Bonne Fete! (Happy Celebration!)









Generous and smooth vintage damask napkins with a cherry pattern and a family monogram pair with luscious linen battenburg lace place mats.








A yummy white majolica platter echoes the cherry pattern of the napkins.








The label lends a little French flavor to the occasion.





I'm addicted to the visual pleasure of stacked linens!

    Beautiful photos! When you are finished drinking the lemonade these bottles make fantastic vases...just a little tip. I love them.

    You are on spot about entertaining. I love all the preparations!! That doesn't mean I 'm good at all of them, but it is what creates the build up to a fun time!

    All of your pictures are so simple, elegant and pretty. Very nice post. Love Trader Joe's!!

    Trader Joe's is brilliant and so are you. I ironed Battenburg lace pillow cases and vintage napkins last night until I thought I would lose my mind. But I love the finished product like the ones you have here.

    What a beautiful post, love the bottles and the white linens. I admit I have bought "drinks" just for the bottles. I have one with sparkling pink lemonade, the label is oh so pretty. Mom from Cottage and Broome

    So pretty as always. Like you, I love the texture and look of stacked linens. Such a visual pleasure. Tomorrow I think I need to go to Trader Joe's and get some more lemonade!

    Those lemonade bottles are so lovely, I don't think I would want to drink the lemonade in case of spoiling the bottle though :) x

    Even though I love Lemonade... I'm loving the packaging on these bottles even more, I can be such a sucker for lovely packaging! I've been known to buy some things just FOR the packaging!
