Cotton Whisper

I like the harmony of white. Everything flows together. There is no strong color to jar your eye or stop your gaze from wandering. A white arrangement always draws me in and makes me want to examine everything in it.

My winter whites tend to be creamy. But garden whites are more brilliant. And while the February wind howls outdoors I'm thinking a few weeks ahead.

My vintage honey jar takes me there too. I wonder if honey bee intelligence includes anticipation. Do bees dream of summer when they take their occasional cleansing flights on warmer winter days?

And they must love flowers even more than we do since it's also their bread and butter.

This "cotton whisper" paint chip was my own late winter cleansing flight inspiration.

Cottons are always soft and comforting, but beautiful too. Even when entirely unembellished like this small muslin sack.

I wouldn't want to think of my life without the joys of cotton. And when the fiber remains its natural color it does merely whisper. While the cold world howls outside, here are a few quiet scenes for your enjoyment.

Thanks so much for your visit!
I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.
Ciao! for now!

Wow what great light, just what I needed to cheer me after some seriously gloomy days! The light shing through those tulip petals is magical, and the lace curtain... Mmmmm! Love the honey jar, what a fun find!!

  16. Oh Jacqueline! You have such a wonderful way with words! And photography!! Just beautiful! I just bought myself a bouquet of pink tulips. Tulips in February! so nice! And the other day I was outside and the hum of the many, many bees in my trees was amazing! I couldn't believe they were there---and so loud! I think they must be tired of the cold and rain and were playing (or working?) wildly the moment it was dry! Love, Kay
