While We Were Sleeping

Midnight snow

alighted on trees

furtive as owls,

and just as fleeting.

Snow stealing silently away

as when it fell,

liquid feathers

sailing the dark air.

We often get a major snowstorm near the first week of January. Getting it early is a treat. It gives me that storybook Christmas feeling!

I'm joining The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sundays.
Thanks for stopping by!

Ciao! for now!

  1. How beautiful! Your gate is quite wonderful...and very tempting...the mystery where it leads. Merry Christmas.

  7. Beautiful pictures of your snowfall. After all the rain and flooding we are in the "deep freeze" now and have a bit of snow on the ground - enough to make it pretty. I think you have more than we do :-) Have a blessed Christmas holiday.
