Midnight snow
alighted on trees
furtive as owls,
and just as fleeting.
Snow stealing silently away
as when it fell,
liquid feathers
sailing the dark air.
We often get a major snowstorm near the first week of January. Getting it early is a treat. It gives me that storybook Christmas feeling!

Beautiful pictures of your snowfall. After all the rain and flooding we are in the "deep freeze" now and have a bit of snow on the ground - enough to make it pretty. I think you have more than we do :-) Have a blessed Christmas holiday.
