Lavender, Pink, & Purple

Getting my tablescape ready for Thursday and thought you might like to have a little peek. Stay tuned! I've used some lavenders and purples because I have purple campanulas in the house and tend to post from what's at hand. My gardening friends will be happy to know that I learned that campanula is Latin for little bell, and that the flower's common name is bell flower. I had to dig even deeper to find the coordinating dishes! Not a color that I commonly use.

Soft Beginnings

It's a holiday Monday for some of us, so maybe it's a nice short work week for you. I like soft beginnings for things, like a week that starts on a Tuesday, early morning rain, or waking up to something beautifully white and easy on the eyes . . .

Hearts & Flowers

A bloggy Valentine from me to you!

I'm sending out hearts to you today. To my dearest blogging pals. To each of you who stop by and leave a sweet word or two. Or each of you who stop in and never make a peep! (I do that a lot myself.) To fellow bloggers near or far. To each of you who have supported me and my old blog through our ongoing technical troubles. Getting a Jump on Spring

A few bulbs and perennials have been turning up in pots at the grocery store lately. The label says these Campanula blooms will last three weeks. I hope my un-green thumb will keep them alive that long! I know that a lot of you have blooms coming up in your own garden already. Our dry climate doesn't allow as much for that, but I'm sure my local gardening friends, the ones with the green thumbs, are probably reaping the rewards about now. Thank goodness the rest of us can buy our way in!

A fresh coat of white paint on an an old potting shelf, and we're ready to show off the wares! The blooms came with the little aged white clay urn, so of course I bought two. When the plants find a home in the garden I'll be able to use these little darlings over and over again. They even have the suggestion of a heart motif designed along the rim.

Great-grandmother's English tea plates also carry the suggestion of springtime (Golden Heritage by Royal Grafton). A stack of fresh white linens, and you can almost smell the spring air!
