falling for farmhouse

I like a little touch of fall around the house, but I'm not really into decorating for Halloween. Kristen of the blog Ella Claire almost makes me want to change my mind! Go check out her post on a Spooky Vintage Halloween here. Her table decorations are always wonderful,  I and it's the little rusty jack-o-lantern jingle bells on branches that have charmed me this time. I found a set of 36 on Amazon at this link.

One of the attractions for me about her blog is how spare but interesting her rooms are. Not really farmhouse style, but close. I would never say that I do much of that style either, but I find myself more drawn to the ethic and simplicity all the time.

I have a board on my Pinterest page that I call Romantic Farmhouse that is an idealized version of the kind of decorating I am drawn to. You might enjoy taking a look. The link is here.

Just a touch of warm color goes a long way for me. And I love dried flowers and weeds like crazy!

Baskets of all kinds.

And brown transfer ware  is a natural for fall.

I want more cushy and cozy when the weather turns, and just need lots of texture. (I'm like my cat that way! haha!)

I still have to go on some field walks for things to fill buckets, baskets, and pots, and to tuck in here and there. But that is more than half the fun!

Hope you're having a great time doing up fall!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

 Have a Fabulous Fall weekend!

Jacqueline

Your blog is always so refreshing. Never have there been so many styles to choose from and within each style there are combinations and percentages of "how much". I do so love your style but I am only a percentage of it. I guess I am a "mixed up combination" of many. HA! This year I did decide to remove much of "orange" from my fall decorations. Brown yes! I will keep my Bittersweet teaset however.....

Of course I had to go right to that Pinterest board and spend a half hour mooning over all that white! I will be back to soak in this post over and over I'm sure!
